No shooters? Way to shoot yourself in the foot.
Uhm, lemmee see... I don't have any idea of your specs, or how large your download allowance is, but might I suggest Vampire: The Masquerade -Bloodlines?
Excellent PC game, and it doesn't have to be a shooter if you choose the animalistic class (Gangrel, I think it was)
But, if your laptop is crazy old, them why not go for an RTS? I mean, I hate the little buggers, but as far as non-shooter old pc games go, they are basically your best shot. Age of empires will do you nicely, even if you've never played an RTS before.

No fps's cause they're not the same on the PC? Lol I think they're way better on the PC than on the console, but to each his own.

This could be a good opportunity to learn how to program...

But I suppose if you really want a game to play...

Go get yourself Homeworld. It's old, but it's one of the best RTS's out there IMO.

Whoa whoa..Christmas! O.O Damn dude you must have done something crazy..

I'm just gonna list PC games that I'm sure you can run, and they're REALLY low spec, but this is a list of games I obtained when I was running a pretty shit desktop..

System Shock 2, Diablo, Diablo 2 & LoD, Medieval Total War, Age of Empires 2 Rune, Quake III, Unreal Tournament, Soldier of Fortune, Serious Sam Second Encounter, Baldurs Gate, Icewind Dale, PlanescapeTorment, DOOM, Dungeon Seige, StarCraft, and Thief II

Yeh, nice list of games right there.. Yeh I know they're really old but you didn't put any type of specs so I dunno what to recommend..

learn to love steam is the best advice I can give. Use the free game giveaway for ati or nvidia and get the orange box (unless you don't like good shooters that are better on pc).

Rome: Total War. I promise you the time will fly by.
Be sure not to use Vista, though.

Dude, what'd you do..?

Or you can take your punishment like a man and stop trying to weasel of dealing with the consequences. I will stand by this statement unless you prove what you did wasn't that bad.

I've had steam for a while but I've had no use for it. but even if I wanted to use it I would need my parent's credit cards to pay for the stuff and since I'm grounded it would never work.

buy visa/mastercard gift cards with cash. They work well for steam because parents don't find out quite as easily. Its what I have done since I got in huge trouble for buying 200$ worth of steam games last year.

edit: also, some games like the orange box can be bought retail and activated on steam.
