Will people stop bitching about suspense and silent hill! Dead Space is one of those tacky 'in your face' sci-fi horrors, B Movie style, and it's Damn Good at it. Event Horizon style.

I am so glad that they've got so much time to polish it, rather than just finish then rush it out as quick as they can. Dead Space is in my top three current generation franchises. Take all the time you need guys!

I only just picked up the first one and so far I'm excited for a second helping.
I hope my buzz dosen't die down before release though.

I read this as Dead Rising 2, nit Dead Space 2 so was a bit confused at the start. In all fairness I did care to much about the first game but I will give this one a fighting chance

From what I gathered from previews and stuff, Clarke seems to be suffering from Schizophrenia or something like that, so I'd imagine he'd only speak in certain parts like cutscenes. Still, I hope they use it well instead of Other M style...

This is good news... and since it won't be out for another couple of months that means even more polish. This is what happens when you set a deadline that you can reach and I really hope this extra little bit will make this game fantastic. I know I'm excited for Dead Space 2 and news like this is always good to hear.

What are you talking about? The Dead Space port was fine. I thought the game was fairly enjoyable and it ran quite nicely on my machine to boot as well.

Well, it ran nicely when I turned off vync which was adding a second or three of time delay to my mouse cursor.
The controls were the most abysmally hateful things I have ever seen. Especially if you like your arrow keys for movement.
Exactly. That and the Vsync problem (visual tearing + flashing lights = HEADACHE) were the two biggest barriers towards my enjoyment of the game. Can't say I cared for the how the mouse handled either- it was always too fast in the menus or too slow in the game.

On the upside, I hope they can keep the loading times the same. I don't think I ever spent more than five seconds looking at a save or load screen, even loading a game fresh from startup.

This is what i like too see, and i think we need to see more of. A studio that sets an acheveable deadline allowing them to fully make the game without having to hack it to pieces at the last second, and still alowing themselves time to bug break and polish off the game.

All developers need to take a look at this and write down some notes, this is how you handle a game release, you dont push an unrealistic development time, butcher the game in the last few months to make that time then release the game broken with bugs and errors.

Good show guys, count me down for one pre-order.

Can't F'in Wait!!! And it sounds like the development team was really into their work as well, good job guys! I'm just hoping for a more various environments this time around. The last game took place entirely on that spaceship, except for the last chapter. I still loved it though ^^
