the tendon that bends the big toe is attacked to the ankle
also when you move your toes you flex you calf mussels as well(im guessing this is why it hurts)

avoid skate games if those make you itch for the real thing (if you play them at all that is)

and see a doctor for physiological damage?

Which bit of your shin? Not to b a specific arse but its really only bone and nerves at the front of ur leg and u only really start to get muscles around halfway through it. Even then the muscle isnt in direct contact with ur big toe theres ligaments in between. Am i lookin into this too much?

1. Surf the internet.
2. Don't know the name, but yes. Well, not the shin, but to the calf.

You have a computer/console that can play Modern Warfare 2/Just Cause 2? I'm fairly certain you can play DVDs then.

Read a book. Discover meditation. Write a musical set in 1900's england, about the love a man has for his forbidden partner. Do a barrel roll. Teach yourself something (for instance, lock picking). Bake a cake. Bake a brownie. Bake a muffin.

About your foot.

As with your hand, your toes are controlled by tendons. These attach to the base of the ankle, and are actually moved by muscles moving up the leg and ankle. In fact, footballers often have a large lung on there shins which is from muscles controlling their ankle and toe movements.

When you do get back on it, wear a heal-less ankle support for the first few times you do exercise, then keep it handy if it flares up.

It could go away completely, or turn into one of those things which flares up every now and again for years.

Good luck.
