I created this thread after reading this news article about the Korean man who married his life-size pillow with an anime girl printed on it.
Many people thought this was something characteristic about the far-eastern culture, and, instead of quoting them all (a task worthy of Sysiphos), I decided to open up a thread about it.
Objectophilia not only exists in the far east, the first publically known case was actually in Europe, but it's so extreme I'll don't actually want to talk about it. I once read an article about this, and there are several examples of object-sexuality or objectophilia:
I'm dead serious about this, no jokes in there.
Most of them consider themselves not object-sexual but objectophile, because they actually give their beloved things personalities, genders, names and treat them like real people, and don't just have them for lust purposes.
The article didn't cover how they did it with their significant others, though, sorry to disappoint you there.
PS: Oh yeah, that first publically known case which is so extreme I don't even wanna talk about, I'll keep it short: A woman from Sweden married the Berlin Wall in '79 (which is, incidently, her new last name of course - legally attested, no joke), and considers herself a widow since November '89. There's even a movie about her.
Well, considering these facts, that man who married his pillow is rather normal, isn't he? I mean, at least it looks like a drawn human.
TL;DR: All over the world, there's people who love objects, stop blaming only them azns and read everything I wrote here instead.

I've even found a video: http://jezebel.com/5146666/objectum-sexuality-when-relationships-with-inanimate-objects-become-intimate
Warning: Possibly slightly disturbing (I want your fluids... I want your fluids... WTF)

-A woman who is in love with a three-ton machine at her workplace (it's a lesbian relationship, of course). She also said, as a teen girl, she had a crush on a huge bolt. Makes you wonder, doesn't it?
-Another woman who was in love with the WTC, and now keeps a model of "him" (?). She had it manufactured from the same material the original twin towers were made of, the scale being 1:1000. It was important to her that the steel was rust-free so she can take a bath with it.
-A man who is now in a steady relationship with his railway-model. He admitted he had a few affairs here and there when he was doing repairs in his home, on the radiator, for example. He's aroused by the technical interiors of machines.
-I also remember a woman from California, who allegedly married the Eiffel tower, her last name is now "Eiffel".
-Another man would never break up with his iBook. Again, a homo-relationship. Of course. Instead of watching porn, he checks the latest notebooks on ebay.
