Subtitled slapping Geoge Lucas. Really hard!

So I've noticed something y'all. There's alot of people in these forums that have negative things to say about George Lucas. I'm just curious, if you could slap George Lucas, hard, what would it be for? If you could sum it up, why would you slap him? Personally, I'm a fan of Star Wars, and while the prequels were pretty, um, underwhelming, for me the defining slap-worth moment was Jar-Jar Binks. Very little in my life inspired such utter loathing as that...thing. So what would it be Escapists?

As an alternative, I'd also like to see if there are any of the "Objectionable" or improvements that you like that Others don't. As an example, People hate me for this, but Darth Maul being killed in Phantom Menace. So many people tell me he should've lived and been in other movies, but to me he's kinda the Boba Fett of the prequels. he's in just enough to get a taste and want more, but not enough to make you go, "Oh, him again?".

I would slap George Lucas through a wall if I could. The orignial Star Wars were good, but the sequels crossed a line. In the words of Ben Croshaw, George Lucas has commited "Franchisicide"

Alot of things but out of them all one stands out, Anakin Skywalker what happened to oh Luke your father was a fantastic guy noble and good his turning was completley suprising. I mean you could have redeemed both horrible prequels if anakins story was even remotley plausable or interesting, but I think Lucas just phoned it in he had nothing planned ahead he was jsut pulling it out of his arse. The Anakin we see is a whiney, bitchey, traitorous, poerhungry child who commits murder all but three times, and mass genocide. What part of those characteristics screams chosen one/former good guy? Seems ot me that he was destined to be shoehorned into the arsehole role.

South Park did it brilliantly with their two episodes, one satarizing the 'improvements' of old movies and one featuring Indiana Jones being raped by Lucas and Spielberg.

Indy 4. Aliens in Indy 4 (I'm sure we all knew that by now, so I'm avoiding spoiler tags).

Hayden Christensen. Technically not Lucas' fault that the man exists, but he did cast him and then attach him to a vat of Angst via IV.

Funnily enough, not Jar-Jar, since Lucas worked out people didn't like him (it?) and therefore reduced the cameos to a bare minimum.

As much as I don't like Indy 4, I really didn't have a problem with the aliens, and I don't get why people get mad about that.

I really like that you pointed that out. George Lucas did a horrible job of making a seamless transition from Anakin to Vader. Lucas made Anakin an angsty teenager with no self control and then all of a sudden he turns into the cold bad guy who is really nice on the inside. Might as well be two different trilogies to me.

You are barking at the wrong tree.
You mean "up the wrong tree." What do you mean? Are you not utterly unhappy that this abomination was allowed to exist?
I'm with you.

I've since moved on though.

What is it with Lucas and killing off all the badass Star Wars characters? Darth Maul, Plo Koon, The Fett (I know he didn't really die in Return, but it looked like he did). It's like the guy gets wood over teasing us with cool characters, then murdering them and forcing us to watch some emo prick get angsty over...sleeping with Natalie Portman?

Most people are actually pretty physced about it. It's being made by bioware.

The new Clone wars series. I HATE ASOKA. She's the Hilary Duff of the Star Wars series, and considering how much I hate her, you get my point.

Though I give them credit for at least giving Grievous some cool moments and a few kills. He was an awesome villain, and they didn't give him enough screen time.

Well, Indy has always been about mysthicism, not sci-fi.
That's probably why.
Anyway, I agree with the aliens and add Jar Jar Binks, little Anakin, emo Anakin and over-use of CGI in the Star Wars prequels.

What I actually liked about the prequels was the display of the clone soldier training facilities in Episode II and the rather large part Jango (and through him, Boba) played.
Palpatine was also surprisingly well done and characterised. That actor's performance was great.

Yes, but those were set in the 30s and based off old tv serials which delt with such things, seeing how the new one was set in the 50s it would only make sense that they would move on from the mysticism to a more "era appropriate" form of fiction.

Bioware is not Lucas Arts.
