I'm interested in buying Oblivion, the game of the year edition so I can get Shivering Isles and that knights thingy. But, I don't know whether I should get it on PS3 or 360. I've heard graphics are slightly better on the PS3 (but thats a matter of opinion I suppose), but I know there are also several smaller missions that are only available for the Xbox 360 version.

I'm not stupid, I know these are most likely 10 minutes long or whatever, but still, it's extra content right?

So which versions do you own, if you own it at all? Do you have any regrets about it? Do you have any advice on which I should get?

Cheers

ummm, green hills look the same on an console mate, and honestly, there's very little difference in gameplay on either console too.

I would just let your deciding factor be price. If the 360 version is cheaper, buy that. If the PS3 version is cheaper, buy that instead.

If they're priced the same, flip a coin. It honestly doesn't matter.

I have both PS3 and 360, so either is good :p

Spoon: They're mentioned on Wikipedia, some reviews of the game of the year edition, and they're also listed on the Xbox Live Marketplace

You should get it for PC. The Elder Scrolls has the single best modding community around IMO.
I know the PC will always win out on a lot of games, I'm not disputing that. To put it bluntly, I'm a console tard, and proud of it :D

Also I have a Mac, and these things are great for photos and arty stuff ... but they throw a right wobbler when you try to do anything else

Get the version that also includes Wizards Tower and Mehrunes Razor.

Those are the only decent DLC for the game, Wizards Tower because it adds enchanting/spellmaking altars(don't have to join the mages guild for it) and Mehrunes Razor because it adds a huge cave filled with respawning enemies.(you'll get a huge amount of enchanted weapons and armours and you can come back every 3 days)

My sister bought the Xbox 360 version, and so far it's pretty flawless as far as Oblivion goes. I haven't figured out how to activate the expansions, though. As far as I know, installing them wasn't enough.

Then again, it could be just me. I have a non-Game-Of-The-Year edition, and I borrowed the expansion disc from a friend who does have the GOTY edition. Could this be the problem?

I know the difference. PS3 can get a few extra frames per second, like 5 or so. The 360 gets better visuals like digital lighting.

The lovelyness you'll miss out on by not getting the PC version

The PS3 is meant to have some sort of specular lighting effect that the 360 didn't originally have but I dunno if 360 updates have taken care of that.

As for the added content well Shivering Isles and Knight Of The Nine are quite sizeable addons the other things like Frostcrag Spire, Thieves Den and such aren;t really missions, unless you count walking to their location on the map and then having to buy certain addon items from the shop vendors as a mission. They can be easily by passed with losing anything.

The PS3 version because it doesn't have hardly any "Loading Area" times. Unlike the 360 that loads at 1 texture per hour.
