Oblivion glitching-help me!!

Whenever I look at certain things the screen goes completely black until I look away. It only happens in dungeons and as far as I can tell seems to only happen when I look at certain cobblestone textures, but that could be wrong. I've been playing it for a week or so but it just started 2 days ago. I didn't change the settings or my drivers or anything. I'd reinstall but I don't want to lose my saves.

My graphics card is Nvidia Gtx 260m with 1gb ram (the card, not the pc which has 4 gb), if that helps.

Drivers are up to date?

It also could be mods that are conflicting.

Have you tried re-starting your PC?
Have you tried backing-up your save file and re-installing?
Have you tried turning down the graphics settings?
Do you have any mods installed (specifically ones that changes textures) if yes, try maybe updating them or disabling them
Updating your card's drivers usually helps with this kind of thing

Try deleting your ini file. It will reappear once you restart the game. It should restore your game to the defaults.

its in My Documents\My Games\Oblivion\Oblivion.ini

Also your saves and the game are stored in different places. Uninstalling won't effect your saves in any way.

Step 1: Find a microwave.
Step 2: Put Oblivion in microwave.
Step 3: Put your dick in the box Turn on microwave.
Step 4: Play Fallout 3.

Just kidding. I love oblivion, but it is crap like this that makes me frustrated. Reloading a save from before this started happening should be all it takes.

I replied so you saw it, because it's the most likely fix for Nvidia cards. Not sure about the 260.

I had the exact same problem with WoW, and it was fixed by updating my graphics card. I would try that if the other simpler options don't work.
