Okay, so I'll start off with my Computer's specs:
AMD Dual Core 2.2Ghz
Radeon HD 5770 1gb
2.5gb DDR2

Okay, so I recently had a harddrive crash and have to start my game from scratch. I had mods on it before, but I never really hit the sweet spot of looks vs. performance. So, based on my computer's specs, I'm looking for mods that pertain to how the game looks, such as better textures, LOD, better looking armour and characters, etc. I'm not looking for custom weapons, or anything that would cause the game to be unbalanced.

Does anybody have any suggestions as to what I should get. Also, should I be using the OBMM, or Wrye Bash, or both?

for textures have a look here http://www.uesp.net/wiki/User:Wrye/A%27s_List_of_Recommended_Mods#Texture_Mods as for whether you should use wrybash or obmm. i tend to use just obmm. hope that helps you out.

When it comes to the overall environment, you really can't go wrong with Qarls Texture Pack. The download itself is a bit of a pain especially if your downloading it from TES Nexus, but it's worth not having to look at Bethesda's blurry textures
