EXCELLENT! Just got into playing Oblivion on my PC again after watching my cousin play it on XBox, and I was really craving a new experience. Kvatch Rebuilt sound really excellent as do most of the other mods on that list. I'm going to save this list and pour over it tonight and probably try most of these. Thanks so much!

Oh, man, I'm 90% sure that I'm buying Oblivion during this sale, but I've a small fear: are these mods compatible with each other? Like, for example, Obscuro's with 10 Travellers, Natural Landscapes, Kvatch rebuilt and the bug fixes one? What order do you install them in, smaller ones first or larger ones first? I'm a newb to modding, but won't it break the game?

I'd recommend installing the offical and then the unofficial patches first before adding mods. use Oblivion Mod Manager to customise the load order of conflicting mods, you can find a download link to it on the first post.

Not bad, but you forgot a few essential mods.

1: Oblivion Mod Manager: Makes installing mods super-easy, and sets up the load-order for you.

2: Operation Optimization: Changes how the game handles loading and data storage, making it load much more smoothly and putting far less stress on your system. Depending on your system, can significantly improve framerate while allowing you to use higher video settings. (It damn well ought to be a Bethesda required update.)

3: Unofficial Oblivion Patch + Shivering Isles: Fixes many bugs the developers gave up on after the last patch (like some imporant AIs dying from geometry failures, etc.) and smooths much of the game out.

4: Oblivion Script Extender: Not a affecting the game in of itself, but allows many other mods to work, and is therefore needed.

urm, because user created content is the foundation to a half decent game nowadays. Most games are forced to release half finished and user created content bridges the gap.

Much love for the list! I was actually recently looking for some mods for Fallout 3/Oblivion to replay one of them but honestly didn't know where to start, there's just so many of them. I like the look of a few you mentioned, will try to start with them and go from there :D

Here's a few mods that I can recommend ^_^

-The Battle For Morrowind. Basically it's a mod where the Dunmer army from Morrowind invades Cyrodiil. You can either join the army of Morrowind and help the invasion, or try to stop them.

-Gates To Aesgaard. A horror based mod that I can't really tell you much about without giving away any spoilers. Although, it's personally one of my favorite mods and I recommend this over all the others. It should take you around 5 hours or so to beat it(there is a part two to this mod that continues the story, but I found it to be lacking compared to the first).

-Servant Of The Dawn. Continues the main quest line. It lets you redeem yourself to the Mythic Dawn by joining them and helping them. There's multiple different endings to the mod so it's best to save before you start it to see all the different outcomes.

-Hoarfrost Castle. Adds a very beautiful player home to the game. However, to get it you have to go through a questline to earn it.

-Mannimarco Resurrection: Light and Dark. Expands the Mages Guild questline. I HIGHLY recommend this mod. It adds two new playable factions(Imperial Battlemages and The Black Worm).
