Well after thinking for a while i don't really care that I'm missing out on mods, so I'm considering getting Oblivion for the Xbox360, but searching around, is there any patches for the Xbox that fix all the bugs I've read about also whats the framer ate normally? have you ever had any graphical lag out doors for an extended period of time? or is it always smooth?

Oblivion will lag sometimes but thats to be expected since it's such a huge game, and you can get downloads for it via X-box live, and trust me once you start playing you won't wanna quit

Honestly its good on the 360 thats the one i played. All patches (only the most recent will be downloaded b/c it will have all prior patches) work well and i had no majorproblems with the game.

It runs as an Xbox 360 game should, smoothly (mostly). I haven't had any trouble with it since I got it.

So should i get the GOTY edition because it comes with both knights of the nine and SI and then get that patches?

Yeah, but the expansions are available over Xbox Live. And as for the patches, Xbox games should update automatically?

Yes. Shivering Isles is awesome, and I've hardly played it.

It will take a while to load all the content after installing the expansions, but worth it. I can't wait to get back to Oblivion once I get my 360 back. (It'll play Fallout near perfect though. Only game that DOESN'T mess up.)

EDIT : Oops, sorry 'bout bumping this old thread. Do these forums allow bumping of old threads?

For me it only lagged while inside oblivion gates, which I expected, there are a lot of lighting effects.
Other than that the load screens are 1-2 minutes sometimes which just breaks my balls.

you need to make sure to empty your cache i know you can do that on the comp and you can do it for fallout on the 360 so there is a way to do it on oblivion.

I never got any lag or game crashes, however the game did have some pretty long loading screens.

You'll definitely want to get the GOTY edition, because the expansions are quite expensive on X-Box live, plus you should be able to get the GOTY edition for the same price as normal if you shop around.

The frame rate is fine on it, and the only time I've seen the frame rate drop and the game crash, is when I duped 3000 watermelons and dropped them on a beggar who complained about having no food to eat.

The 360 chugged along pretty impressively before it crashed, considering it had to deal with the physics of each individual watermelon rolling of the beggar's head and forming a mountain around him.
