Now while there have been two or so threads about gaming compulsions I thought it might be interesting to see if anyone had any other sort of things that they must do or have.

For me among other things is the need to carry a 50p piece around with me at all times except when I sleep. There's no real reason why I do this but since I was 12 I always keep one near or on me. One day though I gave it to a friend who had forgotten money to get lunch and so I was without one, though probably due to me thinking everything would go wrong, it did. It was an awful day and I felt very downtrodden until I picked up another one at home.

What sort of thing affects you in your day to day life?

I am obsessed with good deals. Sales and Thrift Stores FTW!

I rarely buy stuff new, unless it is something best bought new (video cards, hats, etc.) I also have a problem not buying something from a thrift store, even if it seems too good to be true (and I often find good stuff through this method).

D&D RPGs are an obsession for me, partly due to my overly religious upbringing where I was forbidden to play D&D P&P after the Satanic panic of the 80's. The ability to immerse myself into being a lvl 12 Half-orc barbarian always wins over most things save for girls, food, and sleep.

Also my nails are clipped back as far as they can get. If they grow a tiny bit I chew them.
I chew mine so short, they sometimes bleed... Horrible habit, but one I grew up with.

I feel compelled to hurt people who ride bicycles without a helmet. Then I want to stand over their bleeding body and shout "I told you so!" until the ambulance arrives.

I'm also obsessed with cycling in general, my shed and garage are full (read FULL) of forks, frames, wheels headset and other parts, there's enough there to build five or six complete bikes, on top of the five complete bikes I have anyway. It's also on constant rotation and different things get built up/stripped down to ride or maintain depending on the time of year.
That and I buy and sell parts, the obsession pays for itself!

Hmmm IDK, I do have one video Compulsion that I know of. In HL2 and it's episodes, after I get done killing all of the combine in a single battle or engagement, I literally stop advancing and use the gravity gun to clean up my mess. I rearrange furniture as how I would have it in real life and I look all over the place for stray objects and guns and either stack them, put them in piles or place them on shelves and counters. lol

Ouch, for both of you.
I bite my nails but I think because my older brother bit his down till they were the size of a ladybug (interesting thing to use as a measurement huh) it mentally stopped me from letting it go that bad for me. But the skin up the sides of the nails, and around the tip, I have been slowly biting down to keep it "neat" :/

I have to run up the stairs, because I feel uncomfortable just walking normally uo the stairs. I kinda feel like someone is going to grab me when walking the stairs.

Before I can go to sleep I have to make sure that everything is off but I guess that is normal. A little less normal is that I have to listen to a specific song before doing anything. At the moment that song is "The Leaving Song" by AFI. This song changes every 2 weeks. Also with work especially essays I have to write at least 3 and a half pages even if it isn't needed. I have to include every last detail and have it well written. Finally with Math Problems I have this obsession with trying to solve it even if there is no chance for me to do it. Finally I need to make at least 1 smart ass comment a day to feel comfortable. I don't know why but I just have too.

I have that too, teachers tend not to like me because of that.

I am compelled to arrange any spare change throughout my pockets so the damn jangling stops. Makes it a bugger to actually buy things though. You know I'm psyching myself up to do it because I start systematically rooting through my various pockets.

But not for that reason. (I'd get that checked out)

In all seriousness though, I have classic OCD where everything on my desk has to be straight and parallel, for no reason at all.

My OCD, apart from what you have, although only really at school. Is that everything has to look or feel equal to me.
Say I brush a table or wall with the index finger of my left hand I will have to go back and make sure my right index finger bushes the same object in the same place.

Oh and as well as the normal light switches obsession.

Same here, I just feel uncomfortable taking each step one at a time.

Jingling change in my pockets annoys me so I do sometimes seperate it into different pockets to silence or quieten it down.

i obsess over air. i can't live without it. doctors have told me that it's because i'm addicted to what they called "oxygen" and that it's so bad now that my body can't function without it.

also if i am sitting in a room and the door is open to another room or outside, i need to close that door. * knows why.

I have that thing with the stairs too...it feels like i'm not moving far enough for the amount of work i put into going up. Always two steps at a time, preferably jogging/running.

Same with the change thing too, i always have two quarters, each with their own pocket, any other change i obtain throughout the day i give to friends or put in a tip jar...

Sunflower Seeds. I just love them too much, but I hate the mess I make when I eat them. It leaves a residue of slober all over my desk

I have this thing where I alternate feet when i step over cracks on the ground. Usually only on cement and tile. Basically the left foot goes over a crack then it's the right foot that goes over the next one.

I have to take a set of nail clippers and cut most of the loose skin off my hands. As a result my left hand has pretty much no fingerprints left. Also my nails are clipped back as far as they can get. If they grow a tiny bit I chew them.
Also have a oral fixation meaning I am forever playing with my mouth. Running a thumb across my lips (L from Death Note style) and things like that.
Same, except I only cut/bite the loose skin around my nails, rather than the whole fingertip.

EDIT:
