So a little bit ago (Minutes, really), a really good friend of mine broke up with her boyfriend. Bit of a shocker, and oddly enough, gave me an adrenaline rush.
Now, I find this odd for a fairly big reason:
Adrenaline is fight or flight, and I wasn't scared or excited about this in the least. In fact I was a bit sad, but really no extreme emotion.

So it got me thinking, do any of you have any times where you got an adrenaline rush, and you didn't really think it made sense to get?

(Sorry if this is a tad incoherent, the only thing keeping me awake right now is the aforementioned adrenaline)

I can't really think of an 'inappropriate' time, but I'm kind of an adrenaline junkie due to a combination of mega caffeine addiction (since caffeine works by basically forcing your body to make more adrenaline) and a severe case of physical masochism. I get a jolt when I get hurt, and it feels niiiice.

Adrenaline is not only a quick boost for emergencies, but also one of the bodies pain-killers. It's actually a quite fascinating compound.

I was under the impression that the release of adrenaline was accompanied by the release of endorphins which were what caused the pain relieving effect. All I can remember with epinephrine is what happens when it attaches to certain markers on cells related to blood vessels, unfortunately.
