When playing Guitar Hero I usually pucker my lips constantly, making a weird face. For no particular reason, it just kinda happens.

With RPGs and fighting games I think I'm pretty much normal...

With Rock Band I have preferred angles for different instruments though. When I play guitar I have to be to the left of the screen and when I play drums I have to be more to the right. I have NO idea why this came to be... but if I have to perform from different spots, I don't feel 100% comfortable. It has nothing to do with lane position or anything either... weird now that I think about it.

I usually play console games on the couch but always catch myself leaning in towards the TV and have to force myself to sit back and relax. I don't know when this started but I'm annoyed that it occurs.

every thing not me shaped on screen, will be killed, with the only exceptions being enemy's you can't actually kill, every thing else, has a date with what ever divine entity the pray to

I've got a couple,
In pokemon, when I take damage I hold the right button as though it will improve my defense, and when I deal damage I hold the left button, as though it will improve my attack.
In FPSes, I almost never use a shotgun, now I know alot of people probably prefer automatics, but I've only once used a shotgun in Left 4 Dead.
In RPGs that let you specialize in some skills, but still allow you to use other skills, I will choose the magic or similar specialization, then go ahead and use melee weapons for everything, like in Oblivion I chose ALL THE MAGIC SKILLS, but then I rarely used any of it, or in Mabinogi, I chose the Alchemist destiny despite knowing that most of my fighting will be done with a sword anyway.

I don't use WASD.

My hands are so comfortable with the home-row keys that I immediately re-assign any movement keys to ESDF, with A as 'Crouch.'

I almost never hoard potions or consumables beyond Health/Mana potions. In almost every RPG I just don't give two shits about an extra 5% DR to Frost or a 30 minute Critical Hit boost for my weapon. If I can't beat its face in with what I already do, then I change tactics instead of power myself up.

In games like TF2 I rarely survive long enough to get healed or pickup a health pack. I main Pyro, and see the Pyro's role as 'make as much chaos as possible' for the other team. I will gladly suicide spamming Airblast and lighting people on fire with no intention to kill if I know the rest of my team is a few seconds from spawning just to give reinforcements a slight advantage.

-Obsessive reloading. If I have less than a full clip, I MUST RELOAD.

-I hoard items in RPGs like nobody's business. I have finished games with massive collections of unused items because I always tell myself "Better to save it for later" instead of using the damn stuff. That came in handy in Persona 4 when the final boss forced me to almost entirely clean out my inventory.

-Meleeing walls. I got a nasty habit of that from playing Halo 3.

Same here. I've even found myself straining my neck forward, and when I lean back into the sofa I can feel tension in there. I wear contact lenses, so it couldn't be related to eyesight, and I have a 46" TV which should be big enough for the distance I sit. I have found however, that I do it less in driving games, but a lot in 3rd person/FPS.

Thought it was related to my short-sightedness from back in the day. I have found that turning up the brightness on the screen/in game helps sometimes. OR maybe it's just games that get too intense and you have to sit up there and pay attention =P (I do it a lot during the brawls in Batman for example, when I don't want to lose a sick combo)

I also like to shoot at barrels and environment pieces when rushing to choke points in Counter-strike just to see them tumble around, and shoot out windows to get enemies' attention in Rainbow 6: Vegas, but then again I'm sure lots of people like to do that.

I always skip side quests and assure myself I'll go back and do them later. I never do.

This sounds less like a gaming habit and more like prioritizing your team's long term goals above your personal immediate goals. I guess that could be habit in a really meta way.

I am a hoarder, I must have ALL THE POTIONS and never use any of them because "I might need them later"

I also have the bad tendency of going with what looks the best and not THE best "+1 Hat of Magical explosions looks like little red riding hoods cats hat or +4 Hat of Useless information that looks like a Pimp hat...Useless information AWAY"

I also chew my tongue if I am focusing really hard, I even cut my tongue from chewing on it too much.

and to wrap things up I give all the charcters horrible nicknames to remember them by.

(Welkin Gunthar from Valkyria Chronicles was Lt. Tankpants, there was also Sgt. Ladypants, Rosie O'Donnell and then Maximilian's tank was "The Compensator" for a while)

If the weapon has a unique name, I will never throw away, even if weaker than a generic weapon.

I always turn off the vibration on my controller. It's strange to me how other people think it's strange to do that.
I don't think it's strange. Probably because I do it, too. :x

Whenever I play any game on my ps3, I'll randomly move the analog sticks in a cross pattern of up, down, left, right, with my right thumb. Up, down, right, left, with my left thumb. Left thumb is always one movement behind my right thumb. Dunno why I do it, particularly because I never did it until I got a ps3, but it's always during loading screens and scenes where I'm forced to sit idle.

I have an awful habit of instantly reloading after every kill. Which often gets me killed because I can't shoot the guy killing me whilst reloading. ;x

(Please forgive the double post, I am on my fancyschmancy Nexus 7 tablet and am unfamiliar with how to copy/paste with it, thus cannot edit this response into my original post)

Right, so I'm playing Pokemon Blue and I reach Zapdos. Everything is cool, except I can't fucking win.

[HEADING=1]FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU[/HEADING]

I tried 4-5 times to catch him and every time I got that fucking message. I didn't land a SINGLE hit on him with an ultra ball.

I start to get frustrated so on the next go, I paralyse him and bring him to low health as usual...

I throw an ultra ball and start mashing the shit out of the B key while holding the right button.

I catch him, first god damn time.

The rumours were true, it works :D

My way in Pokemon worked again. Fought Moltres, mashed B while holding right, caught him first time again.

Clearly this means that my strategy is infallible.
I'd hardly say this is a strange gaming habit. This is an accepted fact and it's been proven too many times for it not to be a thing. This is the quick time event of Pokemon.

Besides that I can't really think of anything, I guess I am perfectly normal... when I am playing games at least...

I don't do this anymore but back in the ps1 and early ps2 days, if I was pulling a sharp corner in a racing game I would actually lean and turn the controller (even though I was like 10years and had never driven). but I don't do that anymore, and I really despise motion controls (and 3d and all that gimmicky stuff)

This is especially awkward when it's a light machinegun i'm using and I will literally reload because it says 99 instead of 100.
You think thats bad, I sometimes on rare occasion start reloading my gun even before I've finished killing the guy, because of the split second delay between pushing reload and the character reloading (although this only happens rarely), what can I say, I like to be prepared.

I can't begin to play any games until my gaming area is clean and tidy. I have to vacuum my apartment and dust my electronics until they're spotless. Then I consume a Red Bull and some painkillers and play. EVERY frickin time! For years and years now...

I'm right with you there, dude. I do exactly the same. It's frustrating to say the least.
