Now first off, this can be punishments, or you being marked down for a strange reason. What are your interesting stories?

My main one is one of my answers on a test was marked wrong for being too depressing. The question asked what would I look for in a career. My answer was that my skills would be utilized and not wasted. teacher marked me wrong for that and refused to give a real reason.

I tie badgers to sticks and... oh odd school punishments not old school got it.

Out of school suspension. How do they think that it works in any way.

Principal: You were caught cheating so you have to stay home from school for one week.

Me: Uh... Ok? Later I guess.

The next day I went to a FFDP concert with my cousin.

also inb4 got 0 for saying I want to be happy when I grow up when they asked me what I wanted to be.

I joined the lighting & sound crew at school because it meant skipping Tuesday mornings to rig the hall for the weekly assembly, and not having to go to assembly itself - I took the opportunity one time to duck out of the hall and basically extend my recess by half an hour with friends. Unfortunately the exit we took was right outside the vice principal's office, who called us in to have a chat.

She employed reverse psychology I guess, asking if we were ducking out because we felt our efforts were unappreciated and if there was some kind of incentive she could employ to make us not go wandering around during assembly. Nothing ever came of it, but we sure didn't skip assembly to go wandering around school grounds anymore.

I was suspended and had my parents called for playing tag.

The school somehow got word that I was "humping" people, despite me being in 4th grade and not knowing what that meant at all. I honestly have no fucking clue how. Later, I got an apology from the principle.

The best way to stop a child? Kick them out of school for a day! That solves all the problems.

Well I never got any serious punishments, I did lose marks in a test for an odd reason. In a maths question, some variable had been defined in the questions as some letter. I missed that part and just used x in all my calculations. The teacher deducted 1 mark I think for doing that, even though I arrived at the right answer and showed all my working. I couldn't be bothered pressing the matter but my friends starting arguing about it with him. They couldn't change his mind though.

Oh, you are going to love this, in Kindergarten one of the kids (5/6 year old) tore off his pants and started what was effectively the Mr. Elephant dance form Shin Chan and as a punishment the hag pretty much threatened to parade him around pantsless in front of another group.

I never really suffered from an odd punishment. There were cases where the reason cited was a bit shaky. I was once sent to the principal's office for adjusting an ankle brace I was wearing as the result of a nasty sprain. The actual punishment wouldn't have amounted to much; even detention was unlikely. Of course, being an idiot (i.e. convinced I was being treated unjustly), I proceeded to give them a reason to punish me by arguing my point that it was unjust and, after the principal sided with the teacher, simply walking out of the school in a huff.

Of course, in the end I managed to get out of that punishment in a hurry by writing a lengthy letter to the principal where I pointed out the fundamental flaw of in school suspension. My actual aim was to simply be sent home for my suspension but it resulted in a sentence being reduced from 3 days to a half day.

Well the principal used to take me out of class in high school to nag me about why God was the truth and everything else was a lie [small](It was a religious school)[/small] it was very annoying because his logic made no sense, and pointing it out just got him to spew more nonsense at me telling me that the Big Bang was just as illogical or something weird like that, which was weird because all I ever said was that I didn't believe in God when the teacher asked me about it, but anyway that was annoying.

Also in that same school, the informatics teacher dragged me around the floor of the entire school to the principals office because I punched him in the testicular area, but to be fair he hit me with a stick first and I wasn't going to let him get away with that, of course the problem being that he was really tall and I was really short [small](Seriously everybody thought I was 10 even though I was 16)[/small], so he could literally lift me with 1 hand, but anyway he was an ass, later he got fired for having sex with a student and then it turned out he had 2 wives in different cities, so yeah it was weird, now that I think about it sounds like I live in some bizarre cartoon world considering my other informatics teacher skipped town after he claimed he hacked the CIA's database, which is weird because we're in México, but I think everybody I know may be crazy, possibly me too.

In-School suspension is a joke.
"Oh no please, don't let me get all my work done in an hour and sleep the rest of the day!"

I once had a wooden board cleaner launched at my head for talking.

The odd part was the teacher couldn't throw for shit, missed me by yards and broke a window.

Good job he wasn't a PE teacher or we'd never have learned to throw straight.

I was sent home, which isn't really a punishment, for being talked to. Parents didn't even get angry at me because they hated the teacher xD

My old Latin teacher used to throw our exercise books at us to hand them out, and throw textbooks at us if we were talking over him. He was a very good shot, so I'm glad I never crossed him. (Although I did get hit in the side of the next by my exercise book one day when I wasn't paying attention. Which got me a "Wake up, Burton!")

My brother had the same teacher, and also a dyspraxic classmate who used to play games on his laptop during lessons. My brother describes one beautiful day when the Latin teacher looked up from his marking and said with a completely serious tone:

"Henderson, either you get on with your work or I'll throw that bloody laptop out of the window, and you after it."

He was a complete legend.

One teacher at my old school had this pencil that you had to write lines with if you got in trouble, it was a teeny little stub of a pencil no bigger than a thumbnail, she called it the `Punishment Pencil`.
I'm so good at writing lines with tiny pencils now.

That teacher was a bit unhinged though, she had something against me for being left-handed.
