Pretty sure some of the weapons in HL1 beat that hands down...
The Hive-hand is pretty odd...
but nothing can beat a Snark.

I'd say most weapons in the Worms series, especially the special ones.

I mean, come on, exploding old women?
I love the Earthworm Jim games. The best would probably be the smartbomb gun shaped like a barn.

Um would have to say that guitar weapon in DMC3. As well as being odd it was also a horrendously bad idea.
I dunno, Dante's all about class and I've seen people get over 40 hits with the thing.

For my part, the banana bombs in Worms remind me of the banana gun in Iji.

Failing that, the squeaky hammer in Warrior Within. Or the Captain Claw squeaky toy in Shogo (doesn't do any damage to health or armour but hit them enough with it and they break down crying).

oh i just realised the hands-down winner has got to be the traffic cone from halo 3. Discussion closed i think :D
O rly???

Can you really get better than a staff that can turn an Ogre to a rat? xD
im gonna stick with splattering someone with a traffic cone as the oddest, although changing ogres into rats does sound perculiar. oh and there was that one in ratchet and clank 3 that turned the enemies into ducks. it was actually one of the best weapons in the game as well, which was pretty crazy

Did anyone mention the cerebral bore from Turok yet? That was awesome. It locked onto nervous activity (somehow) and fired a small homing drone which tracked the target (sounded proper scary like), latched on to the skull, and then bored into the victims head. Just in case evacuating their skull was insufficient (e.g. vs the zombies), the charge in the drone would detonate when it was done, blasting their headless form to the floor.

Pretty gnarly, really.

Oh, I'm back once again - Worth a mention, when you're in france in Deus Ex, you get to a mansion, inside which there's a secret room accessed via a fireplace and a secret switch. You could crush people (yourself or enemies) if they stood in the right place in the fireplace when you pressed the button. So, I guess a fireplace is a pretty odd one. I wouldn't see it coming, ykno.

Frankly, I think the idea of a crowbar in Half Life is odd... Why a crowbar? Yes, it's a handy weapon, but why that of all things? It seems kind of random.

Plus, the flashlight in Doom 3. You know it does more damage than the pistol? Seriously!

Just as the title says, what is the oddest weapon in a game?

I personally think Bayonetta's hair takes first place due to using your HAIR as a deadly weapon.
It's been done before, though.
Look up Millia Rage, from the Guilty Gear series. Bayonetta's uses go way farther than Millia's, of course.

It's not odd if an NES game beat her to it.

The undeniable winner is the the Shark Gun from Armed and Dangerous.

Not counting most of the characters from Clay Fighter, I'm going to go with Tales of Symphonia when you have Zelos in the party and wearing his formal attire. His weapon will change, sometimes, into a bouquet of roses. Persea has a similar thing in her formal wear, her axes will turn into a giant stuffed animal.

I was actually disappointed you couldn't use the inflatible women in GTA4 as a weapon. They had a few sex toys in that game, I imagine it would be pretty funny to impale someone with a "marital aid" in the eyeball. I bet it has actually been done before, I just need to check with Florida first.
