I was recently watching a Standup Comedian and they were going on about how alot of Religious people blamed the floods in the UK a few years ago on the Country's lax view to homosexuality, but all they really did in Greece (back in the BC days) was bum and read, but the weather was brilliant.

That got me thinking about other things that are stated or said that don't quite make sense if you think about it. Such as why people normally do things to stop pissing off a small ammount of people even when the new action will then piss off a greater majority of (happy) people (banning violent games for example; people who blame deaths on gaming will be happy, but all those gamers that lose out will be very pissed off and could possibly go looting, rioting and campaigning to display this mass anger, which would possibly result in more deaths than videogames actually had a logical link too).

Also how when racists shout at people "go home" or shit like that, the likelyhood is that the person they are shouting at was born in the country, has lived there for a long enough time that it feels like home more then just a place to live and that the country is equally their's as it is the racists...and that most racists probabaly don't know that they have some foreign blood in them anyway.

I know that seems abit "ranty".

But anyway, the main point is, what have you ever heard/experienced/seen that has made you think "wha? You're such a dumbass"?

EDIT: To satisfy the oddness...Isn't it really weird how ducks are at war with the Cheese pixies, even though the Pixies never leave their realm and no one can get into it without the magic cheese-dancing ritual?

Yeah, Mock the Week kicks ass, but I was refering to his standup tour...much recommended, but I can't state the comedian for advertisement reasons or something stupid like that

I can't stand it when some anti-Semitic says 'the Jews killed Jesus' and completely ignore the fact Jesus was a Jew...

all the time
eg the kkk
christians who hated (im talking about the original one) black people
jesus was black though

people who are against euthenasia in all cases

the worst one is the damn sexist law which means that employers arent allowed to ask about pregnancy
ie imagine a small business owner
he earns enough a year to get by and fully relies on all 3 (let's say) of his staff to pull their weight or else his business cant properly run
someone quits so he has to hire someone else
he interviews a 28 yr old woman
great, she's got a great CV and should easily be able to handle the job

what he doesnt know is that she and her husband have been trying for a baby for a few weeks now
so sshe gets hired

4 weeks later, she's pregnant which means she gets leave and then paternity leave
and during in this leave she gets payed
the store owner must now hire a temp for this job again and pay this woman to do nothing
how the hell does he afford that?
but if he fires her, he will get sued

for some reason, this makes perfect sense to all those feminists

I hate when people say "someone told me..." and then quote it as fact. They can't even remember the source, they just vaguely remember information, yet somehow it's become written in stone for them. And anyone saying otherwise is an idiot, of course. I mean, how could you possibly disagree with "someone"?

There you go, added some oddness
You made me a happy pie.

I guess I should add something...
Isen't it odd that if you actually traveled back in time, you would end up floating in space due to the fact that the earth moves? :D I found that odd and awesome at the same time.

Yeah that's when hes talking about the over reaction of the church saying it was the lax attitude of us against gay's, which reminds me of Russell Howards "If you can bum a man and call a storm that makes Elton John a superhero. Theres a drought in Rowanda. Gang-bang!" Sorry I'll stop my slight derailment :)

just a tad
the government tries to justify it by paying a tiny bit of money to the store owner to help out, but it doesnt help
really it's just a "fuck you for hiring a girl who wants a family"
and feminists all try and defend it
like my RS teacher who was trying to argue that maybe it wasnt the woman's fault
but if the woman was going around having unprotected sex, what did she expect to happen? id have some sympathy if it was rape, but most woman who get pregnant after rape get an abortion

then there's the old "what i do at home is none of your business"
but when you know you're trying to get pregnant and a small shop owner who really needs staff that are dedicated hires you, that's very immoral

it's more than shit, it's a reflection of our PC and "tolerant" society
there's such a thing as too tolerant

Uh some women piss me off. If you're going to commit to a job you should at least have the decency to tell your employer that you're trying for a child. It should be a big factor in deciding if someone gets the job. I don't believe in discrimination but picking someone who is right for a job should come first and let's face it, pregnant women rarely are.

I can understand if the woman was raped aswell. Some women really don't believe in abortion even after rape and that's fine I guess...

We should get that blown up and put at the welcome area in all Scottish airports.
Maybe we should open a thread just for this derailment soon :p and I've not saw Michael MacIntyres show yet :'(
