Does anyone know what the background song is that plays during the trailer that was at the start of all the vids last week? (The one with the 21 gun salute) Really hoping someone does...

It's most likely not a song and just made specifically for that ad because Bungie has the dosh to do something like that.

i'd be sad if that were true...but the thought crossed my mind. Hoping not though. The other trailers are all songs on the OST "Prepare to Drop". I just wasnt able to find this one on there

Its a remix of some Irish/ Welsh Song, the original sounds nothing like the Remix for the trailer i wouldnt bother, i cant remember its now right now but ill find it eventually.

It will quite likely be on the ODST album they will almost certainly release. Keep an eye on itunes (if you have it) and you will probably find it ends up there.

The normal version of the song is by the band "Light of Aidan". The song is called "Lament".

Now I am no Halo fan, not even in the least bit but even I have to say that as far as Television ads go...this was one bloody amazing clip. Have to give Halo's PR team credit, the sure know how to generate attention!.

There was supposed to be an OST released the same day as the game. Havent heard anything about it, let alone if the song is on there.

Chances are the remix for the ad was just that, for the ad. I doubt there's a full version of the song remix'd like it. The band barely mentions the song being used for the ad, let alone having a 3rd mix of it (having done 2 themselves). The 2nd version of their's comes out on thursday (10-1-09), it's a little darker and heavier than the original, but still not as heavy as the ODST remix.
