For me,

Wikileaks was the best news story of the year. What we're learning from their discolsures, as well as the fact that in the information age, this kind of information can be transmitted instantly is easily the biggest thing to happen this year.

"The Kids Are All Right" was the best movie of the year. It didn't go in one eyeball and out the other. I think about it a lot, well after seeing it. What would you do in these characters' situations? Etc.

Mass Effect 2 is the best PC game this year. Gameplay is fun, visuals beautiful, story, characters: this game had it all for me.

Keisha's "Take it Off" may not be the classiest, high art tune of the year, but taste is subjective. I love this song.

1) I have to agree, and I've been doing some looking around. Nothing beats it.
2) I'll have to check it out. I love comics but have neither time nor money for em any more. If I can find some good ones on line, I'll check it out.

I'd add, best book I read this year, though not published this year was "Age of Absurdity", recommended to me by someone in this forum.
