I have to say, I like what I'm seeing. I'm glad to see that for all the scripting that obviously happened in the official demo, it showed off a lot of the mechanics of the game accurately. This thing looks REALLY cool.

I like the idea, but I'm not letting myself get any hype for it. I find the problem with a lot of 'tactical' fps games like this is that they fail to actually be tactical. A lot of the time, you can just as easily resort to running and gunning and still beat the level - without using any proper tactics. Equally, I'm not interested in a game that tries to be tactical by being ultra realistic, like Arma, although this doesn't seem to be the case. I'm still waiting for that game that is both fun, requires tactics but isn't boring as the most boring thing imaginable (which is pretty boring, I might add).

The fact this game is all multiplayer might make a change, as it would in theory add replay-ability, but it could also be a problem. I can easily see players running around and not thinking about how they play (which is perfectly reasonable it it helps them win!).

Could be a lot of fun with friends though.

dunno man, i think they are hitting some right notes here and this looks almost exactly like the trailer they showed, so even if it was scripted it was a good indication of how the game works

You know for some reason I read "Rainbow Six" and expected a pony thread. I forgot that the actual name of a game series.
Video looks OK. Gameplay FTW.

It actually has single player and co-op, if its something like a fully fledged campaign, something like Terrorist Hunt or simply AI bots I dont know, my money goes to AI bots and some more objective based content like what was present in the SWAT games and older Rainbow Six games that was basicly maps like this but had varying objectives, and since its probable for the game to have multiple game modes I guess bomb defusal will probably be a thing in it too.

This certainly is more focused in MP as they already said but since AI has already been confirmed to exist in it having something as deep as the older games isnt that hard and far away from what we already saw (SWAT 3 for example has a mission where you start at the front door and all you have to do is move to the attic to arrest or kill the sniper (his sister is taking a bath and sometimes leaves the bathroom so you have to be carefull not to shoot her by mistake).

In regards to the tactics I do think that there is a lot in the game to force the player to use tactics as the criminals will probably camp a lot (all their abilities seem to be focused on guarding one specific area while the opposition has all their abilities for the offense) so there will be a lot of teamwork to attack the camping spot from different angles at the same time (while not trying to hit the hostage). I really dont see this being a good game to play with random people though (or at least people without mics), those matches will probably be incredibly shitty.

Yeah... I think I'll stick to CS instead of "yet another generic shooter everyone will forget about 6 months after it gets released". Remember Future Soldier?, do people still play that thing?, heck, do people even remember it exists at all?.

This game has the potential to be a SWAT-esque game, where you could approach any situation however you wanted, with careful planning and execution of each mission, but I highly doubt it, this might be yet another QTE-fest with linear corridors and shitty AI.

Yeah, people still play GRFS. It is the best online TPS, which isn't high praise on my end, it's just the best by default as just about every other online TPS is horrible currently. I have over 700 clan matches played on GRFS. The cover swap mechanic in GRFS is actually quite genre changing, not the cover swap itself, but what you can do during the cover swap. I hope The Division follows suit with many of GRFS' mechanics.

I still prefer a good campaign mode. I can't believe they scrapped the entire Patriots game, it has so much potential.

Oh god, dude, do you know the meme you've just created???

But OT, I wasn't impressed with the "pre-alpha" demo, and this doesn't get me any more excited. Granted, the closest I've gotten to tactical shooters was the old Ghost Recon titles, so this isn't up my alley anyway.

After googling some it looks like I'm late to the party but I'll take the credit anyway :p
