Err you should of added a poll to really see if people actually wanted a single game discussion topic as I am not convince that most of us on here actually want one.

I don't think its a horrible idea, but not seeing a lot of value to it. A singluar thread that is not limited to a specific topic about a specific game, but anything related to the specific game may hang around more and generate conversation, which is good, but I think game specific user groups may be more in line for that.
Not a bad idea in theory, but I don't see a strong need for it. The problem I have is that they tend to snowball into mega-threads that are a pain to sift through. Makes far more sense to do it the way we do it now, post in existing threads without necroing, and it's ok to create a new thread on a branching topic if it warrants one (when in doubt, ask a mod).
