It was a worthwhile necro. The Hub is awesome, it's like 90's Nickelodeon all over again what with the great cartoons during the day and the classic sitcoms at night -- several of which are shows that used to run on Nick at Nite until they decided to start showing 5-10 year old shows instead of 30-50 year old shows. It's also the home of My Little Pony, if you're into it.TheOneBearded said:....or just hit up the Hub channel. To be honest, this channel has some serious potential. While it does show some new cartoons, it mostly shows the old gems - Superman, Batman (all four renditions of it), Transformers, GI Joe, etc.SuperBelkar said:As for older Cartoon shows, Dexter's Lab, Samurai Jack, Powerpuff Girls etc., hit up boomerang, It's a cornucopia of old titles such as these.
I must admit that I like the new Toonami time slot. Mainly because it combines more older teen/adult oriented anime with Toonami which I find awesome. They are allowed to get away with a bit more stuff. It feels like Toonami was mainly brought back for the older teens/adults that watched it. That is how I see it anyway. I could very well be wrong.Owyn_Merrilin said:I'd add "putting the action block[footnote]it's the action block. CN screw ups:
Live Action
Chowder
Flapjack
Johnny Test
Cancelling Toonami
Removing the Anime from Adult Swim
Cancelling Sym-bionic Titan(NO TOY REVENUE, WHAT THE FUCK)
Although they have redeemed themselves some what:
Cartoon Planet( all of the classic Cartoon Cartoons)
The return of Toomani
The DC block
But they have shot themselves in the foot by:
The horrible time slot that Toonami has,
now what you mentioned, Postponing the DC block.
I stopped hoping for Cartoon Network and ill just be pleasantly surprised if they do something right.
Other stuff on the channel fares from OK (MAD, Dreamworks Dragons) to terrible (Almost Naked Animals, Secret Mountain Fort Awesome) to "oh god, why did they greenlight this?" (The Annoying Orange.)
And yes, I do watch a lot of cartoons. The good ones easily beat the endless reality and cop show re-runs that all the other channels are running, and even the mediocre ones are often better than what they're scheduled against. I pretty much only watch the news because it's all that's on in the early morning and late evening, watching cartoons or the occasional History Channel reality show (notably Pawn Stars) for the rest of the day.
I'm not happy about it just because it's /so/ late in the evening. I have to stay up until 3AM just to watch the shows I really care about, let alone the rest of the block. It'd be better if I had a DVR, but I don't, so it's tough.Bat Vader said:I must admit that I like the new Toonami time slot.
