I have a feeling you guys are just friends. It's happened to me numerous occasions which is why I have so many "girl-friends" *cough*. Which is great I can't complain, I get a nasty insight into the female psyche. It seems here that she does like you in a way.... but the moment you play along with it she'll quickly retreat as not to "ruin anything". Don't be embarrassed that you did what you did. IN FACT... PLAY ON IT! And use it. Do it more often with her. It'll work eventually. It's not awkward between you two, you only think it is. My advice would be, go along with it like a player would (I'm not saying be a player, I'm saying act on it using the confidence of one). When she brings up something like that, take it into stride and respond with a playful attitude and a "" at the end of something. It will work, I know, I've done it before. People take things differently given the attitude you use. Remember that!

Why do you think those douchebags at the clubs can pick up on such gorgeous girls, or some mediocre looking girls are with handsome looking guys? Confidence and attitude dude! It's the key to everything

Thanks mate And that's what I usually do, it's just that this girl didn't seem like that type!! Yeah, attitude is everything, it's just that she seemed quite serious :\

As for the 'just friends' part... I don't know. Perhaps she secretly wants me but can't figure out how to express it? That's a possibility anyways. And no, I'm never talking about it to this girl again, unless she tells me her feelings are genuine!!!.

Force her to sit down and talk this out! But before that figure out how you really feel about this girl. Do you really only want her to stay your friend, or do you want to be more? If I were you I would completely open up to her and tell her about the whole ideal, and how her behavior made you feel.
