So recently I was on IGN (Surprise, surprise, IGN annoys forumgoers.) and I attempted to comment on an article about a creative change in the Ghost Rider book. I typed it out, I thought it was pretty well worded and I'd gotten my point across, I pressed enter and.... I was told that I'd have wait for moderator approval. It never came, no explanation, no nothing, the mods ate my post. So, once I've come to terms with this, I typed out my comment again, less eloquent this time, because the thoughts aren't fresh and I'm a little annoyed that I have to retype it. Submit it again, awaiting approval, several hours pass. Out of curiosity, and because at this point I'm determined to have my comment be heard, I check again.

**profanity not allowed**

I used the word shitty. I was annoyed, so I used a (rather weak) curseword. And then I got censored (The whole post was gone). I'm less than happy. I looked at the whole comment panel, something called DISQUS is responsible for the moderating.
I get what IGN wants to do, the forums and comments sections are a wasteland of "FIRST!" and "Are you liking Nike shoes? Then most great news for you sir, great shoes at discount prices, just visit, www.terriblescammer.net/338fgh698fgdvcial8y6" I get that the community sucks. But this really doesn't seem that great of an idea. Why not just a Captcha system? Why not just have proper moderators? Why not let me swear?
I'm ranting, but seriously, what do you think of this DISQUS thing? Am I overreacting? Possible. Is DISQUS a bunch of fascists? Unlikely, but a bit overzealous at least. Can you think of a better solution to IGN's community problems? Personally I think they just need a proper system that lets you report spam and "FIRST!" comments quickly, and some competent mods.
Discuss if you please.

IGN's never been a quality forum really. If you have an issue, I would write the staff an email, though it won't accomplish anything. Otherwise, just don't bother wiht IGN.
