There have been many great theme tunes from TV and Games as far back as we can remember but what ones stood out most?

Do we all remember the Origial Power Rangers? That opening guitar solo and those heroic lyrics that made kids like me want to spin around and karate kick everything in sight?

And Oh How I loved hearing Pokemon on a saturday morning when I would run down in my pyjamas in time to watch a weekly episode of this new exciting TV show. I felt like it was my destiny too when I heard that Magical theme tune.

So what Memories do you have to share Escapists? We were all young once and most of us still are at heart. Lets see if we can create an epic walk down memory lane!

I used to rush home from school, change into a pair of white tights, a white teeshirt and a baseball cap, secure a white woollen blanket around my shoulders, then bounce around on the sofa watching Battle of the Planets. Ah, those were the days.

I remember I used to spend days planning massive battles with my GI Joes, Ninja Turtles, and Transformers, then it would only take, like, five minutes for them to play out. By then, my room was a huge mess and took an entire weekend to clean...
I also miss long hot summers spent in the dark basement where my family used to keep our Atari hooked up to an old wooden cabinet TV. Nothing better than avoiding the heat by playing endless rounds of Donkey Kong or Pac Man in a cool dark room.

Pokemon was of course number one with Turtles and Batman/Spider-man (animated version)
Later it's been Friends, Dexter and Supernatural.

Oh man, power rangers, pokemon thank you for that.

In my movie theater I used to go when I was young they used to play the same song in the beginning when commercials rolled over.

I didn't understand a word, but I got the feeling alright.
Now triple that feeling with a nostalgia rush.

Ow yeah.

Ulysses 31, Star Blazers and Battle of the Planets where big for me as a kid, and the original Battlestar Gallactica.

Sigh, waking up 6 every morning to watch pokemon.

Shivering in excitement the whole ride home after buying a new game.

Getting the chills from watching the Batman cartoon intro.

Those were the days

Getting up an hour before elementary school and playing Mario Party on my N64. God I played the crap out of that game.
Actually, just the N64 in general. It was my first console and it got me into gaming.

Christmas morning, just kinda Christmas morning. It's one of the classic tropes of childhood, and mine were as sickeningly happy as a christmas card.

And of course, the cartoons. We had great cartoons back then... ahhhhh.

Tiny Toon Adventures, Animaniacs and Power Rangers every afternoon when I was in elementary school. A little later on, Batman:TAS and Pinky and the Brain, and when we got cable, Nicktoons. Rugrats, Doug, Rocko's Modern Life, Aaah! Real Monsters, Hey Arnold!, Angry Beavers. Those were the cartoons of my childhood. The Pokemon cartoon, Dragonball Z, and stuff like that didn't premiere in the US until I was in junior high, but I played the crap out of the original Red/Blue/Yellow video games. Yeah, I'm a bit older than most here.

Even earlier than that, the days of DuckTales, Tale Spin and Darkwing Duck. And even earlier than that, Ninja Turtles, Thundercats and the later Jetsons episodes. Man, those were some good times.

The stories were often very, very depressing, but that soundtrack was made of cheerful win.

You guys are so lucky.
We had no heating/ air condition in the house I lived in until I was four.
My mom ran a business out of a 20x10 shed right next to our house.
My dad spent hours doing tech support/ programming on his PC almost every day.

When we finally got a DVD player (right before we moved into our current house, I think), it was the most amazing thing ever.

I didn't get to play video games until I was seven, and I had to save up and pay for a Gamecube myself (a bundle pack, though, so my sister covered the spare controller and memory card).

Before then, the only games we played were a few educational games that our dad got for us.

We had it so hard...

Oh man, I remember getting up at 6:30 in the morning when I was 8 and having friends (who lived next-door) come over and eat breakfast and watch Pokemon with me. Those were days. I'm not really friends with any of them anymore but those awesome memories live on.

That did sound pretty wrong but nice comeback ;)

Oh I just remembered I got really hooked on Sailor Moon when Cartoon-Network started showing it. Only my grandparents had the cartoon channels so I had to rush to their home after dinner to catch it in time!

Good to see Wacky Races came up here! =)
