Yay....new Star Wars blue-ray dvds. Now with even more tweaks! Though the three they have listed here seem minor. Personally the brightness of the lightsabers never really bothered me but the yoda puppet and the Wampa arm thing are nice changes. I wonder how many little quirks Lucas will throw in so he can re re re release this in a brand new remastered edition. I do like the cover though.

You barely even notice those things when your watching a movie. I don't suddenly stop and say "hey wait that wampa arm has a purple sleeve behind it."

Me either, but I guess we arent the sort of nerds that watch Star Wars frame by frame.

As long as they get rid of they're pointless changes like replacing the old image of Anakin Skywalker for the one of the prequels, the Greedo shoots first bullshit and of course adding the voice of mother fucking Jar Jar Binks at the end of Return of the Jedi I'll be fine.

I'll gladly pay as much as Lucas wants for a Blu-Ray release of Star Wars BEFORE he screwed it up by adding crappy unnecessary CGI scenes.

And I'll sacrifice a virgin if he removes "Young Anakin" from the final scene in Return of the Jedi :p

I'd rather just be able to watch the original non-special edition of the movies. Why is that so much to ask!?

Well, you could always take an old VHS, rip it to your PC, clean it up, then burn to a dvd or Blu-Ray disc. Wouldn't be perfect, but there's enough free and legal software out there to do it if ya took the time.

Bleh. I hate Lucasarts and anything done by them, now, for the utter bullshit they pulled with KotOR 2...

Uhmmmm......how is any of this new news? I have already had the upcoming Blu-Ray box set release sitting in my pre-order amazon box since the beginning of the year. This isn't news, and I can't help but feel that this is basically just another "lets bash Lucas!" thread.

People's complaints are stupid. Star Wars is just getting released on Blu-Ray just like everything else, I fail to see how its a problem anymore then all of the dozens of other blu-ray re-releases of famous films are. Its just Star Wars on blu-ray with some new extra content, if people honestly willing to complain about it then they probably don't have much of a social life.
Ironic considering you recently made a thread to complain about Star Wars fans who complain.

I actually like the new Anakin in RotJ. Adds continuity, since that was him at his prime life as a Jedi. you could ask about Obi-Wan, but he was a Jedi all his life and never fell. Same with Yoda, and probably Luke when he dies.

WHAT?!?

There are many, many things I brushed aside when he remastered the prequels, but this? This is going to far, this Lucas must be stopped.

Hey, its better than Blade Runner where the entire outcome of the movie is changed depending on the release. Apparently Ridley Scott is finally giving up and just re-filming the whole thing. I wonder if Star Wars will go down that road.

I can't help but feel that everyone complaining about the slight CGI changes in the original star wars trilogy is making a death star out of a tie fighter. Greedo shot first, BIG FUCKING DEAL! He still got killed, didn't he? Anakin spirit replacement at the end of return of the jedi. BIG DEAL! It shows them for less than 30 seconds anyways! It's not like he spliced in mcdonalds and gatorade logos and edited a dancing elephant into every scene. It's not like a ford logo was edited into one of the screen corners. I mean, jesus people, I can understand why people didn't like the prequels, but saying the original trilogy was entirely ruined because of a little CGI is really really nitpicky. I mean, seriously, it's not like he replaced all the characters with ewoks and spliced walkie talkies over the guns.
