Please post here if the following has happened to you:

You're browsing online or the TV, just looking for something to kill some time with, when you suddenly see a headline proclaiming "X Helps You Live Longer! or something of that sorts. You stop and click/watch said article because you think "Hey, I do X all the time! Wonder what's so good about it..."
After you've read/watched the article, you find out that some inane, small, uninteresting, and/or normal thing that you've been doing most of your life is in fact the newest prevention for cancer, or helps you live longer, or other such beneficiary things.

If you haven't had the above experience, but still want to contribute, then maybe post on something you discovered which is bad for you or what you wished was good for you.

For me, I found out that various, "ahem," actives* I do daily actually help me perform better in bed. And here I thought I was just a natural...

These "activities" I speak of are "Edging" and various muscle-control exercises which I usually do unconsciously, but have found to be hard for other men to do and is quiet a help lasting longer. Sorry for the confusion/bad mental image....

It happened to my dad once!

"Oh, so smoking isn't good for you? Well, good thing I used my common sense about smoke inhalation!"

These "activities" have been left out to save the innocent young readers here from reading a reply from one of the immature idiots on this sight.
Uh, just because someone's young doesn't mean they're retarded.

It's incredibly obvious what you're talking about.

Anyway, did you know smoking pot turns you into a giant pot cocoon?
True facts.

Glad I don't do it.
Ehm, I meant those words to indicate that I'm saving young Escapist readers from reading the replies of Immature and Idiotic Escapist Members. Sorry for the confusion.

Daily? I'd get bored of it after doing it daily. No, I'm not joking. Or I just do that so rarely that I think I'd get bored of it.

OT: I often imagine how possible conversation might go about their discussion. This has occasionally helped me know what the hell to say, how to respond, or whether to respond during awkward or confusing conversations.

Also, I've discovered that reading every single book in sight will result in boredom in later years. I have read every single book one of the 58 books on my bookshelf, and countless others in other places. As a result, it's very difficult for me to find books that I haven't read and am interested in reading.

Um...either you're confused or I am, because I don't mean masturbation as my "activities."

But those people are still just as likely to reply to it, despite you not saying it outright.
Oh...so, I'm guessing my attempt at making a funny by jokingly warning against the more un-desirable members of the Escapist has failed?
...yep. Okay, I'll just go back to making fart-jokes in RPs, probably is for the best...

We're both confused now. There's nothing else people could reasonably guess you're talking about in that context. I think. Now I've confused myself three times!

This thread is so off the rails that I can barely think of what to say after what I just read.

Yeah...sorry bout that. I was trying to (unsuccessfully) make a funny about the immature posters here, but it failed. So I replaced the
with what I really meant. And don't worry, it's nothing to bad (unless I made it to vague again and now your going to be confused and disturbed...

...yeah, I should just stick to RPs and posting stuff. Topic-Threads are not my forte...

Sorry bout that, it was a Funny malfunction...
Anyways, this thread is about how you, either randomly or purposely, discovered that something that you've always done is in fact something that really helps you/really hurts you.

I really try not to pay attention to those things. Health news changes quite fast and you are going to get different opinions depend on what and where you read these types of things.

apparently, masturbation eases pressure on the prostate which reduces the risk of prostate cancer
