Actually at one point I had a problem where Steam decided it had to update at the same time as I lost my internet connection. I was unable to play any games using Steam until I got my connection back a few days later and it was actually able to update.jxfuller1 said:You are the only person I know of that ever gets errors when you open the steam program... sounds more like a problem with your computer.TU4AR said:Well half the problems come in when doing the first part and trying to open the Steam application. Last month I was getting errors that have been around for six years. Six years! Jesus, you'd they'd they'd at least TRY to bugfix. All the fun of messing around with my registry, yay.Easton Dark said:I'm sorry that opening the Steam application and double-clicking on the game you want to play is not easy enough.
Oh that sounds rude........... that's just my situation (Guess I'm blessed?). What's wrong on your end?
The other half come in playing the games. "This game cannot be played in offline mode" well FUCK YOU too, maybe I don't actually HAVE an internet connection at the moment you cockends. Thank God for MiSteam/MiSteam Prep. Not to mention the updates to single player games can render them unplayable if I can't afford the download.
And yes, you sounded very rude.
You can play games in offline mode with steam if you know how to do it, JUST LOOK IT UP.
Keep in mind that TF2 launched in 2007 (which was, as you know, a little over three years ago). Can you think of any OTHER game still receiving near constant updates in it's fourth year on shelves? Most companies would have abandoned the game in favor of a sequel a long time ago.bbad89 said:Has anyone else noticed that since Valve brought in the Mannconomy system, that they've been doing next to no work? Most updates after that have been from the community, and it's really pathetic, especially considering how much they made off the Mannconomy, you'd think they could put a little more manpower into it.
Valve has been supporting Team Fortress 2 with new content and updates for over three years for free. The fact that you're complaining that you haven't had enough free stuff from the studio recently is mind boggling, honestly.bbad89 said:Has anyone else noticed that since Valve brought in the Mannconomy system, that they've been doing next to no work? Anybody else noticed how people FREAKED out!!??! When MW2 got ONE update. It wasnt even a large one. That isnt a good thing btw.Dana22 said:I would agree if TF2 was half, maybe a year old. But its almost 4 years old.
Compare this to the lifespan of, I dunno, any other shooter, lets say Call of Duty. And you will notice that Valve is quite generous.
Yes, and Ive also read in some interview with Gabe Newell, that size of TF2 team haven't changed much since premiere.bahumat42 said:you understand how a company works right?
Nothing?Sgt. Sykes said:Dude, they have always been like that. Between Half-Life and HL2, i.e. 6 years, they've released NOTHING of their own - just stuff made by the community, repackaged and resold. Actually they haven't done anything else after HL2 either (although I have respect for Portal).
Yeah, but as I've said before, Valve aren't that big of a studio, I'd say that they have 4 teams in total (total guess here, but an educated one)Dana22 said:Also, please, stop mentioning episode 3, portal 2, dota 2 or whatever. Those are made by different teams unrelated to TF2 people.
