Looks fairly meh to me. Just the first PSP with another analog stick. Games are what anyone could have expected.

So pretty much Sony said, if we can build it, there should be two of them in the PSP2, because that's how numbers work.

Nope, I have a PSP. I'm good.

Regarding #2 here (which I believe it is, but that's another story) I need a few things confirmed or denied:

Is it regional? If so, count me out.

Can I play my PSP1 games?

Can it play Scott Pilgrim?

Wifi?
3G?

Phone service? Texting?

Seriously, this thing sounds like it has some issues, but it may be forgiven if it can do just a few things. I need more details before I totally dismiss it but still...

Seems a strange investment by them honestly. I mean, how much did they make with the original PSP?

1. why would you need two camera's?

2. why the touch pad on the BACK of the PSP2?

3. why six axis now that it FINALLY has two analog sticks?

also, Im guessing it will be for about $300+ USD since it is "just as powerful" as the PS3.

so, either $300 to play games.....outside!

or $300 for a PS3 that already has a sizable catalog of games.
Touchpad in front AND back.

on the front I would understand, but why, WHY would we need one also on the back?
I don't get it, arew you complaining about the touchpad located or the possibilites of new gameplay.

And I don't want to hinder the screen view with my hand.

Yea everyone is probably going to complain a lot on this thread, but Sony is good at learning from their mistakes.

I bet this will be pretty sweet. The main problem with the PSP was a crappy game selection and one analog stick.

As long as they up the gfx, make good games, and allow connection to PSN (and through that steam) I can't see how it won't be awesome.

Looks like somebody put a games (I say games. only LBP is any good out of them.) console onto a tablet. Size looks pretty damn huge too.

"Sony boasts that the new PlayStation Portable is as powerful as a PlayStation 3. The device features built-in WiFi and 3G wireless connectivity and uses an all-new form of media storage for games-no more UMD."

That would be a no unfortunately. Unless they go digital on the PSN store or something.

Can it play Scott Pilgrim?
I am enjoying your style.
And I would assume so if it is the right file type.

Yea, two analong sticks, that just sold me instantly.
Agreed! I don't know what idiot put only 1 stick on the original PSP, but I hope he got fired for it!

I imagine it would help quite a bit with dating sims.

OT: Any word on how much it's going to cost?

Nope. No word on the price yet, but I will assume $300 or maybe even a bit higher.

I like that the analog sticks look like actual sticks. 5" screen is pretty cool, non-standard resolution isn't though. touch screen on the back actually sounds quite interesting, there's a lot of potential there if devs make good use of it.

i hope their new media is a mini-bluray disc if it's disc based, anything else would be retarded.

And I don't want to hinder the screen view with my hand.

im complaining mainly about the pads location, supposedly [I am not watching the annoucement, nor following it closely] the PSP2 has shoulder buttons on all corners, it just feels like it will be awkward having to scratch on the back of it. I understand why they might be wary to include it under the main screen, but I would think that they would include a stylus for the front screen. I don't see anyone playing Uncharted or Killzone quickly pulling out their Hello Kitty stylus to throw a grenade. On that note, I DO see someone moving to use the back pad and the handheld slipping out of their hands. But does it really six axis along with two touch pads?

also, I love how they say it will have 3G on it also, that more than likely means you will need to get a contract with either AT&T or T-Mobile to use it.
The good thing about the back touchpad is it's not using any stylus at all, and it will probably can be used as R1R2L1L2

I don't know you already heard this or not, but The NGP will come out with and without 3G.

And I don't mind 3G, in my country 3G doesn't need a contract to be used, why US phone companies require contracts? I thought you guys are free to use all kind of service, it seems like so restrictive.

Make use of some PS3 Eye like functions.

2. why the touch pad on the BACK of the PSP2?
It's a great idea actually. I'm quite looking forward to seeing an FPS that makes use of the back touchpad for aiming.

3. why six axis now that it FINALLY has two analog sticks?
Why not? More importantly; flight games.

The touchscreen gives it the potential to play all the game types that the iPod touch has, and regardless of what some of you think, that's a really strong selling point.

Is Sony so masochistic as to CONTINUE to be violated by Nintendo (sales-wise) in the hand-held department? Whatever, have fun Sony.

ALso: When will it get a Monster Hunter game? It ain't shit 'till it's got monster hunter.

Monster Hunter Tri was originally slated for the PS3, I'm sure they already did some work on it that they didn't throw away. Wouldn't be hard at all for them to finish it. It's even viable for it to be a launch title.

We DO have Monster Hunter Freedom 3 to look forward to I guess. Potential PSP2 release though? Probably not. They won't wait for Sony to release the PSP2 to release this...
