I'd argue that even the Nintendo 3DS has a lot of problems. I looks exactly like the DSi, Has only one analogue stick (just like PSP) and unlike somebody I really don't care about the gimmick of 3D, I'll still get both when the price goes down but neither is a day one purchase, and in all honesty I've played most of the 3DS games from Nintendo and don't really wanna play them again. I'm not trolling I just think right now neither company has given me a reason to buy one of their handhelds, so far the only game I'm looking forward to is Little Deviants on NGP because I think that it a really unique idea and if pulled of right it could be brilliant.
Sorry for long post.

The biggest problem with the PSP2 is that apparently you can't change batteries at all, if it dies you will have to send it in.

Monster Hunter Tri was originally slated for the PS3, I'm sure they already did some work on it that they didn't throw away. Wouldn't be hard at all for them to finish it. It's even viable for it to be a launch title.
We DO have Monster Hunter Freedom 3 to look forward to I guess. Potential PSP2 release though? Probably not. They won't wait for Sony to release the PSP2 to release this...
When is it slated for release? Is it already in development? Jack Tretton said they'd release in one market this year, which would mean Japan. That would end up selling massively well, especially if they push the 3D capabilities for online play.

WOW I'm behind! It's already out in Japan! Will we get a release? Probably not. Wow... Fastest selling game in Capcom history.

Anyways. There's less an less reason for me, personally, to buy a PSP2 every day. A lot less now, thanks to Capcom.

WHAT? The PSP2 (or to give it its proper name, the NGP) is NOT just the PSP with a right analog stick. It's the PSP with a right analog stick, a touchscreen on the front, a touch panel on the back, 256-bit graphic power equal to the PS3 and a predictably hefty price tag that Hannibal's fleet of elephants couldn't move an inch if it were a real physical weight.

But I don't give the slightest; I've preordered the 3DS and I can't be arsed to save up another 800 AUD for the NGP.

Is Sony so masochistic as to CONTINUE to be violated by Nintendo (sales-wise) in the hand-held department? Whatever, have fun Sony.

ALso: When will it get a Monster Hunter game? It ain't shit 'till it's got monster hunter.
I also smell failure for it in the near future, especially against the 3DS.
OP: No Atlus OR conformation on backwards compatibility? If those two things hold, you can count me out.

Seems a strange investment by them honestly. I mean, how much did they make with the original PSP?
According to wikipedia they sold 62 million units (including the Go) as of September 16, 2010.

Strange, I've never seen anyone with one.

I've tested this, I got odd looks for the PSP, but not a DS or SP

EDIT: Fixed >///<

Only took them this long to get it right...

Also 3G? Funny, up here in Canada 3G isn't very free anywhere, and companies charge upwards of 30$/month for a decent 3G plan, but this device with need much more if you're downloading games, streaming videos, surfing the internet, making video calls(or something), playing online games, I mean the list goes on.

I'm happy with my PS3 I got from my sister's ex-husband thanks to the divorce, how I ended up with it, not so sure, but Little Big Planet is a bastard game.

I'm not interested in this thing, never have been a PSP fan.
