I too find the battlefield series a quite enjoyable thing to play. The multiplayer is probably the only fps multiplayer I can get into really, and the guns have a nice feedback to use along with pleasant reloads. It encourages teamwork without punishing you harshly for wanting to run off and do your own thing. Not sure what the exact science is behind pleasant reloads, but too few games utilise it. The EA connection is probably the worst part, so I generally wait till all dlc is out and a sale happens before buying.

The last Battlefield went on sale with all DLC for 6 pounds 49 pence...like holy shit, 6.49 for everything?? why yes please, greedy bees!

This game seems like an early access release sold for 60 bucks. Never have I seen a game like this since street fighter 5's original release where a bunch of stuff is grayed out and not to be available for months. I guess people's reaction to it's development was accurate lol.

For me the biggest issue is that despite what Dice and modern BF fans say, the games are still too much in the vein of CoD; which for people like me who have gravitated towards Project Reality, ARMA, and Squad, find absolutely insufferable.

I haven't seen much of that since it dropped. Not one I've review has even mentioned anything about women in the game(though I don't read Brietbart or Heat Street so maybe they did).

Though yeah, the "historical accuracy" kinda falls flat when everyone in WW1 had a man-portable machine gun, even ones that wouldn't be made until years later. Or my favorite, the Armored train in the campaign that apparently uses GPS guided artillery to hit you if you stand still for any length of time.

In general, all of those things. With respect to Battlefield V, the way that they acted toward customers who were displeased with the lack of authenticity. EA rudely said not to buy the game, and whether or not people like it, EA and Dice both represent Battlefield. Also, the playing the game early was retarded. They clearly had the game finished by the 9th of November; however, only certain people got to play it then. If the game is done, release it. They group people up as if some are proletariat and some bourgeoisie. Even people who pre-ordered (a stupid thing to do in the first place) the "Deluxe Edition" didn't get it on the 9th. EA was kind enough to bless them with a 10-hour trial. Even the different editions themselves are a joke; it's a scummy way to get extra money. Companies like EA know that they can't yet get away with selling games for 80-100 bucks, so they trick people through other means.

If anything I'd say it's gone too far the other way- the game is so specifically made to be a rubbish experience for lone wolves that you're forced to play with the squad you're dropped into without any choice. Not much of a problem for team players but the days of solo stealth missions behind the lines are long gone.

Social justice, glitches, missing content, rocky beta, dual release dates, missing modes, fired Chief Design Officer... 50% of game's sales came from being bundled with consoles and even Black Friday/Cyber Monday can't save it. It is also missing some of its propaganda missions and battle royale mode.

I knew this game was going to flop, I called it months ago when the pre-orders were so low they pushed back release. Patrick Soderlund got fired for this fiasco. Social justice claims another franchise, not helped by a so-called "AAA" publisher releasing a glitchy, incomplete mess. Weak pre-orders, weak sales, mixed reviews. They'll probably blame this failure on a sexist audience just like GB2016 or Oceans8. 🙄

Here's my deal.

I was once like all of you. I hated how video games are and where they might head to. I was there when everyone was raging on infamous games like Dragon Age 2 and Resident Evil 6 for being either dumbed down for filthy casuals or changing its gameplay to such a way as to appeal to the Call of Duty crowd.

But then something happened. I think it began with the outrage received at Mass Effect 3. Now at that point in time I never even played a single Mass Effect game because I was in my hardcore RPG grognard phase that thinks RPGs are dumbed down and won't ever achieve the depth and complexity of games like Morrowind and Baldur's Gate and the sequels to Mass Effect in 2 and 3 I heard were even more dumbed down compared to the first game. I was there when I thought AAA publishers are ruining gaming and Indie gaming is our salvation, especially when the whole kickstarter/steam greenlight thing was huge.

Then I actually played the Mass Effect trilogy and now its one of my most liked games and I wish for a remaster already. And soon I learned to accept some games from these AAA publishers. I even decided to fully get into World of Warcraft again despite how "the older days were far better" heck after Resident Evil 6 they finally went back to their horror roots in Resident Evil 7 and now remaking Resident Evil 2.

While looking at the Indie gaming side of things I feel they did worse because these are the guys that are suppoesd to be above and beyond the AAA devs, actually cares about Game quality, and the customers.

But then the sheer amount of Kickstarter and Greenlight failures happened, espceially some games I was looking forward to never even got out and are still in development.

Its at this point that I feel I just dont' care anymore about the plight of us gamers and just want to buy and play whatever I think looks cool or fun. I don't need to go on a forum and ***** and moan about games these days anymore. My wallet is enough.

And today I feel Battlefield 5 looks more fun then Fallout 76. I'll still wait until they fix all the bugs though, because knowing EA today at least they do fix their bugs overtime.

The gameplay is great but the mix of lacking content and good content is already showing after 30 hours, me and my friends are already tired of all the maps. The game launched with only 8 maps and maybe half of them are decent/good which is pretty disappointing.

Didn't it launch missing a multiplayer mode and one of the Single Player campaigns, both to be patched in later? It just feels like there's something wrong with that.

Seriously EA, this is one of your flagship titles. The least you can do is have all the content go at launch. I mean, that and not be incredibly buggy.
