I finally fooled him!
I tried to think of two anime characters who are similar in appearance and living situation. I thought of Yamato Ikutski and Rin Tsuchimi. And he guessed Tomoya Okazaki. Sorry, but let's continue.

And then after continuing, he guessed Rin Tsuchimi. Holy crap. He delivered a blow to my Rin/Yamato defense when he asked if the character's mom had died.
