Heh, Bill Fourkiller.

Presumably he's worried about his nephew young Bobby Quad-damage.

OT: Lets just stick a 10% tax on everything and pay off the politicians. C'mon people, be pragmatic.

I doubt this was a principled defense of video games by the Oklahoma legislature. Most of them probably made it as far as "This bill proposes a new tax" and didn't bother to go further. That's a very conservative state, and a difficult one to raise taxes in no matter what the target.
Yep, though I am surprised that it took this long to happen in the first place.

BTW, fuck the VGVN.
Why? Theyre the good guys.
They are sponsored by the ESA, whom were stated to be pro-SOPA. The VGVN does seem to be spouting the opposite message, I am a bit confused, honestly.

It's just politics, Commander.

Seriously though, of course they're going to cover their asses from an extra tax, and they'll be a 'champion of the gaming community' - if it helps them. But they aren't going to pass up a chance to attack piracy and create profitable stagnation.

Courts/governments should only be allowed to govern things if they are objective, moral issues(which do not harm anyone) are subjective so this bill will never in a million years be made a law/tax

Ah yes, but there's the rub. What constitutes a "objective, moral issue"? Not that I think morality is subjective, but too many people out there do. And really, should governments be getting up and dictating what a person is or is not allowed to do? Other than obvious things that people wouldn't allow to go on regardless, like murder theft and rape?

It's all well and good to talk about these things, but one must remember that nothing is as cut and dry as one might think.

In Oklahoma? Yes. In other states? Not so much.

Still, kudos for common sense. What kind of idiot taxes a theraputic violent video game?

Because it is... your morality is different from my morality, which is different from the Hindu morality.

Who's right?

OT: Is that man's name really... Fourkiller?

How many rednecks have you met from OK? More than a few of them are big and aggressive. It's from all the beer they drink.
And all the McDonald's and insanely bad diet most midwesterners have. The aggressiveness probably comes from being being brainwashed by the hate filled churches that are prevalent in the middle of the country.
