Yeah here is a quick question, why do people seem to think that devs vanish from the surface of the earth when studios disband, for example let's say Fallout (3rd post I've done with this example) people are all saying that Obsidian will mess up FO despite the fact that they made the original games! Sure when a big name like Tim Scahfer switches studios everyone is aware of this but when unnamed lead programmer #24 does the same everyone outside of the industry assumes they fall of the face of the earth.

Correction, most guys at Obsidian worked on the second game.

Why does that matter? Because the first is far, far better than the second.

Examples: Talking Deathclaws and an absurd amount of pop-culture references that are really annoying.

I prefer Fallout 2 over 1. 2 had a bigger world, better moral choices, more interesting options, better replayability, improved game mechanics, great sense of dark humor, and no bloody time limit, which was the most stupid thing in the history of ever.

2 I felt took itself less seriously than the first, and was all the better for it.

After playing through the first I found myself liking it a lot more.
I guess its down to preference, but still.

Either way, both were better than 3 in terms of story.

No argument there.

I love both original Fallout, although I prefer 2's sense of dark humor and style. It really is just a matter of preference though, especially since both use the exact same engine with almost the exact same visuals and gameplay.

New Reno is just fantastic, I love that city: Mafia, Porn, Drugs and Gambling, oh my!
