A Hermit's Cave
Sudden thought: I really don't mind (pre-)19th century grammar/vocabulary in the stuff I read...

...

Do you?

By that I mean: use of words in contexts that have changed quite a bit (e.g. specific definitions & their evolution etc.); borderline Yoda-speak; use of antiquated vocabulary.

...

*dramatic shrug*

I don't see why anyone would have anything against that.
It's quaint and fun to use that kind of grammar.

Seems fancier to speak in such a manner, does it not. I have indeed found that i write in old ways compared to most people. I suppose it is partly because i do not speak English and as such it becomes the sophisticated international lingua de imperium by default
I never write contractions like i'm and isn't because i got fed up with seeing constant vicious verbal violations by rubes

Thou hast discovered thy true calling.

One's grandest fault can only be a dearth of vocabulary. Truly, a sad state of affairs has befallen our world, when one may employ words such as... "ain't"... without visibly shuddering.

Eh. I mean if it's your thing, go for it. Me, I'll stick to typing the way I usually talk. Casual-style. It ain't like anyone would be arrogant enough to judge someone based on the way they chose to speak. Right? *glare*

CAPTCHA: oontz oontz. Great, now I want to go clubbing.

While I enjoy reading it, I would butcher writing or speaking older versions of English.

[sub]Semi related: I still use the word 'gay; in its original form sometimes. It was a very gay morning today.[/sub]

:D

To be a little egotistic, if that was aimed at me, I was just joking for the sake of the thread. If it wasn't aimed at me, then my ego takes a large hit and I feel silly.

I must say, for having your eyes closed, you almost had a very good secret code set up there. Your one mistake was the 'r' at the end of "ewakkr".

Well, I wouldn't call "one key to the left" a very good code. Still not too shabby considering I was going by hand placements only. A half-inch to the right and it would've been legible!
