Remakes are bad, they ruin the memories of old great classics.

Just look at Mario, he's been essentialy re-making the same game since the NES days and now I can't bring myself to play the thing.

If it was good back then, just leave it the way it was, remakes only ruin things.

Sequels are much better.

Maybe instead of all these games get remade, maybe put back into print again. Like, Planescape could use a reprint, since i never got to play it and The Neverhood could be put on Steam or something.

Legaia 2, from the PS2. I LOVED that game, except for the random battles. like the story, the cinematics, the powers, the team combos, the items...EVERYTHING but the random battles
I forget: was it this game or the first one where you had a 3 way boss battle where the strategy boiled down to: Block the entire 3 rounds until the opponent did super attack move, then use superpower from the parasite on your arm, then use a heal spell or item, then repeat the block, attack, heal pattern?

As for me I'd love to see Terranigma get a graphical update. I am still miffed that the US did not get this game and I had to play it by way of import copy and later on rom. It has been 15 years Square-Enix, get cracking. You are making Dragonquest remakes all the time.
no....http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/home/520833.html
I played the game. I know what it is. No need to direct me to place where I can get information about a game I already know about.
Sooooooooory, it's just that you mentioned a parasite in a characters arm, which IS NOT in the game, so PLEASE, forgive me, if I thought you might not be sure which game you were talking about...

OT: Shinobi would also be a cool one. (if there already is a recent remake, please let me know guys)

A month ago I would say Serious Sam, but apparently they already did that. And apparently managed to fuck it up somehow... Hopefully Second Encounter will be less buggy.

Lost Vikings on NES. It was a great game that had almost everything to satisfy my gaming needs. Combined with modern day graphics and our new view on how gameplay should look, it would make a great remake.

This will surprise nobody coming from me, but I'd beat my family to death for a straight remake of Alpha Centauri on the Civ 4 engine. I've played that game at least once a week for the past ELEVEN YEARS.

how about shadowrun? the rpg not the class based shooter
There has been only one video game that I remember that has done the pen and paper Shadowrun any justice (as much as a video game can do for a pen and paper RPG).
Shadowrun on the Sega Genesis(1994). This was a great console RPG(western style) with 3 classes (Street Samurai, Decker, Shaman) and some fun cyberspace combat. I would love to see a remake of this game or even a 'spiritual successor' that tried to stay close to the mechanics/theme of the pen and paper RPG.

Also, I agree that the Dungeon Keeper series needs a new version. Although there have been a few DK like games (Startopia, Evil Genius), I do miss the mechanics and theme of the Dungeon Keeper games.

Half-Life 1.
Ok, first step completed valve, you've ported it to the source engine.
Next step: improving the graphics so that they meet Half Life 2's graphics.
FINE. Since your so firm about it.

Black & White. Loved that game, fix a few glitches and updated the graphics and it could be genius.

Also, they should re release Grim Fandango for the DS. I would buy myself one just to finally get my hands on that game. No need to update the graphics (maybe just a few clean ups here and there) as the style is still as fresh as ever. They only need to add a couple of components to make it for user friendly such as a hint system like Professor Layton's, plus a more easy to manage inventory.

Since Nintendo are a bunch of lazy bastards, it shouldn't be too much trouble for them to come out with a new and improved Super Mario RPG.

I love this game, but since they ARE so damn lazy, the re-make would have the exact same graphics. Because ya know, the Wii isn't much of a step up from the SNES anyway.

Anyway, my short list includes Resident Evil 2, FFVII, and Metal Gear 1 and 2. The first two just need graphical updates (please for the love of God don't change combat systems or inventory or anything), but the last two need complete overhauls.

The Elder Scrolls III Morrowind. If Bethesda remade it like Oblivion it would awesome. Its story is longer and much more in depth. A lot more variety and mystery in there too.

All of the Ratchet and Clank games on the PS2. I wouldn't like to see them remade really, just remastered, so they didn't lag unbelievably on the PS3. I think they should get the same treatment as the God of War games. No changes to the game play or story, just changing the format to Blu-Ray and adding trophies.
