Not all sequels are good, oh ho ho not at all. But usualy if it has a strong multi-player, the previous game users switch to the new game because, well, it's the newest. Also, games update and change ALOT, not always for the better in some veiwer's eyes. What games for you have become obsolete or "upgraded" but you miss?

Mine is probably the start of TF2 without the upgrades or hats. Though it's true it adds more variation to the game, some of the items are so imbalanced one way or the other that they make the game a little too crazy or painful at times. Like when the other team is full of Demo's charging your team with swords and shields drawn, reducing your explosive damage and chopping your head off. And with the hats... well, some people take vanity very seriously ("My hat means I am superior!") and it was the spawn of Idle severs.

SWAT 4 was the only fps game I ever played online regularly. Damn fun times!

I liked the slow pace and the focus of tactics and sharp thinking over a quick trigger finger. Plus the multiplayer modes were a blast; I especially liked the escort missions where one player would be a civilian amid the two teams, terrorists and SWAT, and the SWAT would have to escort the civ to a safe zone while the others had to capture (Not kill, capture, important detail that!) the civ. Had some extremely fun matches there!

Probably the most tactical online game I've ever played, and I loved every second of it! Miss it terribly. Unfortunately I very much doubt there will ever be another game like it. Ah well!

I never got around to playing SWAT 4 online, Though I did a fair enough single player that it seems like it would be pretty fun.
God the game was creepy at times though.

SOCOM 2 was the best online shooter for my PS2 and I can't stand what has become of it now. SOCOM Confrontation was a piece of shit and I returned it about a week after playing it. I occasionally play my original copy every now and then, but I seem to be playing more Modern Warfare 2 than anything.

Hell yeah. Many people don't know it, but the guys who made SWAT 4 are the same ones who made System Shock 2 and most recently Bioshock among other games. They're among the best when it comes to creating atmospheric and creepy scenario, and SWAT 4 was some of their best work. The Fairfax House for example, where you're after the kidnapping suspect, is just downright freaky. And the Taronne Building was just... disturbing. Especially when you head into the basement.

Had great online too, go figure!

I used to play Aliens Versus Predator 2 all the time. It was possibly the most fun I'd ever had with a video game.

And before anyone brings up the 360 version.... it's just not the same...
