Got any old/not very popular strategy games you can recommend? Anything strategy related; RTS, RTT, 4X, Hybrid, etc.

My Old/Obscure Strategy Games said:
Outpost 2, Master of Orion (1 and 2), Galactic Civilizations, Blitzkrieg, Sudden Strike (and Sudden Strike Forever), Warzone 2100, and Dark Reign: The Future of War.
What are yours?

Um...I think I have an old space RTS called Star Command: Deluxe. And I have the Gold edition.

No, not the Disney Star Command.

EDIT: Oh, this is for recommending? I thought it was just say what you knew.

How about Lord of the Rings: War of the Ring published by Sierra back in 2003? That was when Sierra had rights to the books and not the movies but EA had rights to the movies and not the books. Now, EA has both. This game is a lot like Warcraft III only with LOTR characters and senarios. I really like it except for one thing. About 2/3 of the way through just about any player vs CPU match where you are playing the "good guys", the CPU starts using some invisible unit that I have not yet figured out how to kill. Then it sends swarms of other units that overwhelm my guys. Otherwise, a great game.

The close combat series had some awesome ones i`s suggest either D-day or a bridge too far as they were the best

The Settlers (or Serf City depending on where you're sitting in the world) is worth a mention on the basis that the developers have managed to re-market the SAME GAME about thirty times since its original conception. It wasn't even original in 1993, FFS.

I enjoyed Total Annihilation. That was rather amusing, especially making the units sing via the cheat. And the expansions made the AI pretty good, along with mods.

Just started playing Majesty after hearing about the sequal. What a cool little RTS and just down my street.

EDIT: I'm just a Gnome!

Among things not named (how I wanted to be the one suggesting MOO/MOO2...)

Master of Magic (yes, it's MOO except fantasy with a civilization-esque game map)
Colonization (civilization except 1492-1800ish)
Dark Reign 2 (I think it counts, if it doesn't, oh well)
Jagged Alliance and Jagged Alliance 2 are very good tactical games

I could say "myth/myth2" but I fucking hated them and I don't see how Bungie was put on the map by a game that was "pick a formation and watch your troops win or lose if you picked the right one" because micro was impossible (or maybe I was just really really bad a long time ago).

Birthright was awesome, but GOOD LUCK FINDING IT. I still have it and it has glaring flaws, but I still really enjoyed it, especially the set-up scenarios.

Command and Conquer isn't exactly obscure, but C+C:Tiberian Sun is a less-appreciated-than-it-should-be game, if you ask me.

Entrepreneur/The Corporate Machine were very interesting too...and I'd say they're strategy games.

And pretty much anything by SSI I recommend, including Warlords Battlecry, and I don't remember if they did Mission Force: Cyberstorm (1 or 2).
