Beyond Good & Evil. I've been waiting like seven years for a resolution to that completely rude cliffhanger.
I believe one has been announced? Some time ago, if I recall.

OT: Gonna go with Age of Mythology. Probably one of the few spin-offs to be superior to the original series in my opinion. It got an expansion (which was rubbish) but a full-on sequel is overdue.

Mercenaries should get a sequel. It is a SHAME they never bothered to make one. I am sure it would have been good, unlike that 4th Indiana Jones movie that also doesn't exist.

...Also the Matrix movie should have gotten a sequel.
You do know about Mercenaries 2: World in Flames, right?
He refused to acknowledge its existance because he hates it, hence the Matrix joke.

Team Buddies needs a sequel.
People should learn that sarcasm is not so easy to understand on the internet.
For that very reason, I tried to make it over the top. I slammed the bold "Shame," in there, in capital letters no less. I made references to not one, but two movies that "Should," have gotten sequels... but never did. I guess I failed.

I'd like to see remakes/sequels of the Megaman Legends stories. i know it's 2 games and I never beat the 2nd one but the story and gameplay were amazing and refreshing for the Megaman franchise.

Conker's: This also technically doesn't count because it had a gameboy installation before Bad Fur Day and then they remade it with Live and Reloaded. I just want a new and fresh storyline with some actually fun and interesting multiplayer, unlike L&R. I'd love to see a return of the original multiplayer modes my friends and I loved from the first game too.

You're right, it was announced like 2 years ago, and last I heard the development of it was going through some rough times, so I'm just pretending it doesn't exist until we see some gameplay footage.

I completely agree on the Jet force gemini. Paper Mario needs a real continuation instead of super paper mario. Pikmin 2 needs a sequel. Banjo Tooie needs a real sequel besides Nuts and Bolts. Oh yeah and CHRONO TRIGGER.

YES. Mythology is miles better than 3 and my favorite just because of the variety.

Legend of Dragoon for sure, but take out the need to grind for ten days to buy one ring...and i think Yahtzee would rip it apart if they leave in the quick time button combo mechanic. (which was fun as hell)

Republic commando. Why make a cliffhanger ending if you are never going to pull us up from the edge of the cliff? O, and that was like my favorite FPS of all time because your squad; and get ready to be shocked folks... actually did something.
I loved that game. You know they made books, BOOKS! about the game BUT NO SEQUAL!

I want my AI back. Sure some of their positions were limiting but they were SMART!

Earthbound

(The chances of Mother 3 coming to the US are slim and none. I would buy a DSi JUST FOR Mother 3, it's that damn good!)

Ooooh, I know one! Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth.
The studio had several sequels planned, but it went bankrupt :(

Breakdown, because I'd love to see how they'd rescue the alternate future from Nexrum-derp! That's from M.D. Geist. Please excuse, I might be coming down with Mono I meant Nexus and the T'lan. The game wasn't the best built, but the story had me hooked all the way through.

Gotcha Force, because if you haven't played that game and loved it you deserve to go to prison so I get better parking.

Oh plus Phantom Dust, because free-roaming multiplayer would make that game sweeter than chocolate covered tits.

Vagrant Story
Haunting Ground - though just a nice visual upgrade would suffice.

Vagrant Story definetely should have a sequel, but I guess the game was so epic I would never have the courage to play a sequel.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Future Cop L.A.P.D.

Though I'm frightened of what EA would do to it now that I think about it...

Metal Fatigue: K I'm risking by bringing a RTS here but if u never played it, u missed part of ur life. That game was geniusly designed but it had only one major problem: the era in which it was created, bad AI behaviour because there were no better models at the time and crappy graphics make it look horrible compared to today's rts games, but it's concept is one of the greatest ever.
It also came at the same time as Age of Empires 2 which was wise beyond it's years and crushed any RTS, I still play that game to this day.

But I agree, there's not enough Mechas in RTS.

You know what...

I'm going to say Chrono Trigger needs a sequel. Chrono Cross doesn't count. It really, really, REALLY should have been its own game.

Though this is pretty damn close... [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PVMqhplgqzg&feature=player_embedded]

While I know that the entire genre is pretty much dead/buttoned up in it's entirety by EVE... But I'd love to see a sequel for FreeLancer and possibly Tachyon:The Fringe (possibly a remake).

Tachyon came out way back in 2000, but still looks alright (the gods only know how good it would've looked with modern graphics) but was really, really well put together gameplay wise, and for the time felt pretty big (before FreeLancer and EVE came along to redefine that word), but most importantly the characters felt real and certainly the Bora campaign was exquisitely well written. I don't include the GalSpan campaign in that because it didn't feel like a cause worth fighting for to be honest and didn't include those moments of corporate injustice that made my blood boil on several occasions in the Bora campaign but even so... It had it's flaws (like not being able to take off without a mission and so be unable to really take advantage of some of the features of the universe, and those missions being quite tightly scripted but... meh), but was still a really great game. Sequel would've been kinda nice, although possibly would have been a bit contrived since the campaigns tied everything off quite nicely.

FreeLancer is more recent by about three years, and really annoying since it left us a cliffhanger type ending, and massive potential and scope for a truly monumental sequel. A real shame since, while not quite as well written or acted, it was a phenomenal game, from pretty much every standpoint, design, gameplay and concepts. Sadly, FreeLancer 2 got nobbled when Digital Anvil was dissolved by Microsoft and so nothing ever came of the hypergates or the anvils that got dropped regarding further potential in the story.

But then again, space sims seem to be well and truly dead in anything other than the multiplayer market so....

Atleast Relic are hopefully not just coyly dragging us along for the ride on the fourth but unnamed project they're working on and we'll be getting a Homeworld 3.
