Theres plenty more links where that came from, but I don't really like spamming forums with links elsewhere!

Theres a remake of Maniac Mansion aswell somewhere also.

In fact, just go and have a look at this page about game remakes and indie games... http://www.reloaded.org/

I'm shocked nobody has mentioned Day of the Tentacle yet. First game I ever bought. Really well done, and the time traveling really added something cool to the game (ex. changing the past affects the future).
Wasn't Day of the tentacle one of the maniac mansion games? I never played it but it got really good reviews.

Does Grim fandango count as point and click?

Day of the Tentacle was sort of a sequel to Maniac Mansion, but far better in my opinion. If only Lucasarts would re-release it (perhaps with Good Old Games for example? You listening Lucas?)

I'd count Grim Fandango in the same mould as the others made by some of the folks that made Monkey Island, Full Throttle etc.

I really liked the King's Quest games, although I never beat them, and now the software is so outdated, it's hard to find a computer that will even run the stupid games. All that aside though, those were my favorite adventure games back when I was little.
They recently released a King's Quest Anthology pack that was reworked to function on windows XP.

Point and click ADVENTURES!
Zork: The Grand Inquisitor will always be one of my favorites. Especially all the funny dialogues and weird things you find. For instance: "Do not throck the grass"- a random sign.

Is there someone who remember Dune? It was the one adventure game I've played!! :) I've got a bit of nostalgy when I think about this game. It reminds me the nights spending playing it with my cousins! :)

Syberia, Longest Journey and Broken Sword are my favorite point-and-click games. Though in Syberia the walking kills me... at least it's worth it, the story is amazing.

I guess that's why I love adventure games, the story is almost guaranteed to be mind-blowing and enjoyable.

Haven't played any of the new ones, but let me tell you, Simon and Monkey Island 1&2 were totally awesome. I actually played through Simon 1&2 again just about half a year ago.
These still are great games, the graphics are still nice because it was so lovingly created (just think of all the hidden faces in Simon) and the humour is timeless.

Pff... plenty of games I remember playing, a list:

- Atlantis Evolution
I don't recall much any more from this game. Except for having nice graphics, and an interesting and adventurous gameplay.
- The 7th Guest
I really liked this game, and recently played through it again. It has a great atmosphere, in a relatively small world (just one house actually). It is the first game to come out on the PC in CD-ROM.
- the Monkey Island games
Just wonderful. No word describing them. I was too young to remember much from the first two (rubber chicken anyone?), but the third was truly magnificent and beautiful.
- Myst series
Damn this shit is hard! Wonderful and mysterious world though. I have to admit using a couple of walkthroughs with these games.
- Loom
I was only a couple of years when this game came out. But I still remember my sister and father playing this game. I think this is one of the earliest memories I can recollect of my life. Simply wonderful.
- Blade Runner
Really atmospheric game in a refreshing (*ahum*) setting. Well at least it's something else than the other ones in my post. I certainly enjoyed it for a while up till it crashed and lost my savegame..

I do miss these games in a way, but I don't think I Have the patience to find all the clues and solve all the puzzles any more. Still, if new games like these came out I'd give them a chance.
