I lost some friends to drugs when I was younger, I relished the death of one of them considering he became a psychopath who beat his girlfriend, his mother and stabbed another friend who almost bleed to death. He also came to my workplace and threatened to kill by boss, and basically that got me fired.

This was 12 years ago, and the surviving brother of the dead asshole has a grudge towards me because I told the cops where this psychopath was hiding when he was wanted. Btw he was wanted for attempted murder, money forging, assault against public servant and a long list of other crimes, many of them drug related.

It really bugs me that this guy hates me. Yes he lost his brother, but he didn't see his brothers dark sides. He didn't see his brother beat his girlfriend black and blue.

I've tried to add him on facebook, but hes ignoring me and thats cool. But whats not cool is the fact that he hates me because I had my reasons to not like his psychopath, woman beating, mother beating, stabbing of a brother.

How do I solve this. Fuck why am I even asking this here? I guess I'm looking for advice.

Well, it sounds like there's no reason to continue trying. Better just to ignore him. He may see it as an insult that you are trying to be his friend. Unless you have some reason to care for his opinion, leave it, no one is universally popular.

Just leave him.
He's angry he lost his brother. He may be angry at you, he may even be angry at his brother for some of that stuff but he can't express it because his brother is dead, and you are an easy outlet.

Just let him hate you, be the bigger person and move on with your life.

Yup. You can't make this better, only he can. Maybe one day he'll realise his brother was a real son of a *****, maybe he won't. Either way, its not your problem and nothing you say or do is going to improve this.

Ignore him and move on.

You did what this person's family evidentially didn't have the balls to do, and reported a criminal to the police.

If the brother was a decent person he'd have done it himself.

Strangest thing happened. I got in touch with him not long after writing this post. We had a talk and we concluded that we both had missed each other. Thats a happy ending, and this thread can now peacefully die. Thanks for the input, you were all in a consensus and if things hadn't worked out I would have followed your advice.
