Ive been digging through the shelves and I found Warrior Kings, an RTS from 2001, I Really adored this game and I've started playing it again, and now I'm just finding old games left, right and centre and playing over them again, these include:

Populous
Baldurs gate 1 and 2
Stronghold
Starcraft
Myth the fallen lords
Age of empires 1

I was just wondering, have any of you on here done something similar? or atleast what older games do you still play to this day?

Edit: Damn wrong section! my bad escapist :*(

I always love to dig through my old games and play them. Not just for nostalgic value, but because most of them are a lot BETTER than the cack that's released nowadays... Baldur's Gate 1 & 2 being definite examples...

I still love to play my old Playstation games now and then. I've been meaning to run through a few again...

Here's a few I found lately:

Baldur's Gate 1 & 2
Icewind Dale 1 & 2
Broken Sword 1 & 2
Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri + Crossfire
Mech Commander Gold & 2
*Toonstruk (gawd I wish I could get that to run again... I miss that awesome game)
*Full Throttle (see Toonstruk)
Syberia 1 & 2
Warlord: Battlecry 3

(* I tried using DOSbox, and I can only just about work it and can't get the games to play...)

As for PS1 games, I've recently dug out these gems:

The Unholy War
Blood Roar 1 & 2
Jade Cocoon
Jumping Flash 1 & 2
Legend of Legaia
Guardian's Crusade
Suikoden 2 (I wish I could get hold of S1... then I'd have all 5 main titles)

Most of the games I play at the moment are from years past. On the 360, I play Saint's Row 2 a whole lot but that's when I'm on the 360. Generally, I'm on the Gamecube playing Wind Waker or, the SNES playing various games. Most recently, Castlevania IV which I'm relly close to beating.

I still play pacman and the original ff a lot.

Otherwise yeah i do it a lot, i probably spend more time on my n64/ps/gb than i do on my ps3 sometimes, but then i seem to be a rare breed these days as ive encountered too many people obssessed with graphics...

Try PM'ing a moderator, they should be able to move the thread for you.

I go on old school gaming binges from time to time. I often play classic flight and space sims, such as Red Baron and Tie Fighter. It's a shame that the genre has faded into obscurity in recent years.

Some other games I play frequently are Paper Mario, Morrowind, The Neverhood Chronicles, Donkey Kong Country, A-10: Tank Killer and the original Super Smash Bros.

Tie Fighter had the most bat shit control scheme in the history if PC games.

Warwind 2 had this really interesting RTS mechanic. You recruited regular civilians, then sent them into buildings to train to become different units. Certain civililians had 'potential,' and they became special units.

Battle Realms had a similar mechanic, but left out the potential system.

Street of Simcity will always be in my gaming library. I get to blow up cars and deliver packages in my own Simcity maps!

Age of Empires 2 and Tachyon: The Fringe are about the oldest games I still regularly play, though I occasionally boot up Homeworld.

Now see, your right on that one I've never heard of Red baron or Tie fighter (The game anyway) and I've never had the pleasure of playing Morrowind before.

Oh and I stupidly created this is Gaming discussion, it froze while I pressed post so i tried again (Assuming it didnt create, but it did), but I accidentally put it in off topic aswell, so I kinda did a double fail... (Mods dont kill me!)

This thread inspired me to pop into Good Old Games to browse a bit, and I found a lot of games I'd really love to try. When I can get some free time, I sure know what to make of it.

Of old games I do have at the moment, I guess Heroes of Might and Magic III is the game I most frequently play. Others are Splinter Cell, Pandora Tomorrow and Chaos Theory.
