I have owned my Xbox since December 2007 and I bought it used, so It is one of the first versions of the System. I have saved it from the dreaded Red Ring of Death hundreds of time(I used the ol' thermal paste trick). My System's Cancer has been so troublesome that I have to revive it from it's state of undeath Once a month, even if I leave it for a few weeks. I have been meaning to purchase a newer version of the console (or even a PS3) for ages now, but I never have the Money. (I'm still at high School and I have no part-time job... STILL)

Now I have been wondering, Does anyone else own the plague ridden Peugeot that is a 2006 or even 2007 model 360 or have you all cast them into the Abyss and bought the more reliable Volkswagen that is the 2008-Now Model? ... That Metaphor wasn't to good....

TL;DR: How old is your 360, (any other current gen console for that matter) or How outdated is your Gaming Computer?

I've been through 9 360s since launch and last year, I gave up on them completely.

Though, I decided to give it one more chance and actually attempted to buy one over the weekend.

It was broken right out of the box -_-

Shit, am I the only one without shitty bad luck when it comes to the 360? Mine has only failed on me once, and I've had it since early 2006.

Nine, that's impressive.

I've got one of the 60gb Playstation 3's that has both ps 1 and 2 backwards compatibility. Haven't had any problems and it's really convenient having an all in one console.

I'm the same as superbatranger, and my PC has been stable, sorta, since 2005. Still need to upgrade it though...

I've got the same PS3 as well. When I gave up on the 360s, I switched to PS3 and haven't had any trouble with it yet either :D

I bought mine in 2006 and I have had it since. It red ringed, but Microsoft sent me a new one. My warranty is up so when I get red ringed I am thinking of either buying the 250g slim or getting a PS3. So far after having my XBOX for four years I've only used four GBs. It was a launch Pro 12 GB.

I used to have an older model, it died. Micorsoft couldn't fix the problem, so they said "screw it" and sent me a newer model.
I also have that bulky, decomissioned military truck known as an original PS3.

My Xbox 360 is from the end of 2006. It's one of the old premium white models that lacked HDMI. So far it's red ringed 3 times, and been repaired 4 times for general problems. Since the last repair half way through last year, it's been working fine. I have since given it a 120GB HDD. I don't plan on upgrading it at all. Component outputs 1080p fine on my TV, and even if there is a noticable difference in picture quality, I'm sure it can't be that great, and not worth buying a new console for. I might get a new one if this one breaks again though now that the warranty has probably expired.

My Playstation 3 is a launch model 60GB. It has backwards compatibility with most PS1/2 games, and has all of the functionality of the new models too. I definitely will not be replacing it, though I do plan on getting a large hard drive for it sometime. Manditory installs really take their toll on my hard drive capacity.

My PC has a 3.2 GHZ AMD Athlon dual core processor, a 250GB sata HDD, 2GB ram, an Nvidia 9500 GT 1GB, so it's not going to be running too many new games, or if it does, not on great settings. I don't tend to use my PC much for gaming these days apart from indie games (like Ongaku, Audiosurf, Beat Hazard), and Valve games like Left 4 Dead 2, so I have no plans to upgrade.

I've also been on a bit of a retro binge lately, so being up to date is not even a second thought.
