A very nice chart of all the medals won to date by each country. I also just wanted to make a shout out to Phelps for winning his 8th gold medal and becoming part of history itself. All we need now is to prove he wasn?t doping or anything.

China has the lead as far as gold goes...

feel free to dicuss your views on the olympics...

Doesn't Phelps take a drug test after every race or something? I don't think anyone can be taken seriously if they accuse him of doping.

I am quite sure they have drug tests before each race now days, I may be wrong don't quote me on it.
But anyway, I must say the one gold that stood out for me was the 100m sprint. To run 100m in 9.69 is unbelievable, and that is with him starting to gloat for the last 30 odd meters.

Bolt did really make an inhuman feat. Knowing he actually started to slow down in the last 15 meters just because he knew he was winning, you realize that at one point he did almost 20 meters in less than 1 second. Flash, suck on that.

I feel so happy that my country has not done much better than mostly near last places. It rightfully gives the image that our competitors are only there for sight seeing, since our taxes pay for their bloody trip.

For the record, I live in Portugal. Well, we still have some hopes left that are truly more professional than our other athletes.

What takes do you guys have on the Chinese gymnasts? Do you think they are really old enough to compete? And what should be done as far as proving their age?

China has the most gold medals, but we have the most medals overall. I guess that's good.

PS- Do Russia and Georgia still play each other in the Olympics? It must be awkward if they do...

Should about sum up your question. Basically they are getting along with one another.

yeah, didnt georgia beat russia in the volleyball? surely that makes up for any loss of prestige caused by the invasion.

Can't say that I follow the Olympics very closely. If I'm flicking through channels and happen to stop on an event I like, so be it. But other then that I'm just not all that into it.

That being said, even I have to give credit to Phelps*. That guy is a friggin beast. What really amazes me about him is how, even after he spends about 90% of his day in the water, there is little to no pruning going on. For real, after about 15 minutes in the shower I look like I'm 90, and this guy still looks fine after God-only-knows how many hours in the pool.
