So, after the whole debacle with Andrew W.K. being declared a cultural embassador, I noticed a disturbing trend among commenters mistaking his hard-partying lifestyle as unsuit for the ambassador job. I decided that I should give some context behind his seemingly vapid comments.

Andrew W.K. loves partying. I know what you're saying: "Well of course he does, he won't f***ing shut about it". But before you pass judgement on this, you should realize that partying to him doesn't just mean getting out the booze and dance music (although that's a popular form). To him, it means living your life to it's full potential whether that be getting f***ed up and dancing or getting a PhD in physics. It's all the same to him.

That stupid comment about teaching people in Bahrain "the positive power of partying"? What that really means is that he was going to teach people overseas to be happy with whatever they do in life, which is not a bad lesson, really.

Before I close out, I should mention he's also one of the most positive and kind celebrities out there (and by far the greatest one hit wonder to see the face of this Earth).

[sub][sub]He also just so happens to like Pinkie Pie.[/sub][/sub]

People on this site seem to complain about anything:

A. Successful
B. American
C. Successful that came from American soil
D. Shitty

So, naturally when I read that article on this site, I saw complaints whilst the writers tried making jokes.

I find this kind of news funny. Not to mention, I think it'd be great to have someone I guess I should say "new" as an Ambassador. I know they are supposed to represent our country but I just have this hysterical image of all these men from around the worlds in suits representing their country and Andrew walking in wearing a Toga and a beer in one hand and a boom box playing loudly in the other hand.

If that had been true, I would have been a happy man.

I'm not even American and that would have made my day.

I'm sure other countries are getting piss bored of meeting American and British politicians that are about as much fun as playing Pong solo.

Imagine how much fun diplomatic meetings would have been.

Technically it was, but they retracted the offer before the whole thing went public.

And yes, I agree. Lots of people that didn't know that much about the guy had a lot to say. He's not the total moron that he comes across as a lot of the time in his music.

COnsidering my first thought on this thread was "Who is that guy anyway", I can obviously only complain about B or D on this one.

But yeah now that I read the article I'm mildly amused. Oh, and "Living one's life to its full potential"; yeah, nice, sounds profound and is just vague enough it doesn't have to mean anything. The best kind of stuff for them motivational speeches and stuff.

"Hey guys, stop fighting that oppressive and unfair government! Be happy with your lives"

Can't see a message of happiness going over very well in Bahrain honestly.

Bullshizness. You are clearly forgetting about Sir Mixalot who, as legend informs us, could not tell a lie. I think there was also something about a cherry tree.

There's two things I was really surprised to find out about Andrew WK. First, is apparently there's a huge conspiracy about whether or not he was real, or just a puppet created by his Dad and some other guy, and that he's been replaced by this committee of people, and then there's this other guy name Steev Mike who's trying to ruin everything and......

Well I've already confused myself so I'll stop, but it was weird.

Second, I guess he's also a motivational speaker, so maybe that's what they were going with

Also, he played at the Detroit Warped Tour a few years ago, and it was a pretty bitchin show, and at the Meet'n'Greet afterwards he was really cool, and he talked with me and my friends for a few minutes, and seemed to actually listen to us
