Does anyone else get a sinking feeling of dread when presented with an on-rails section?
99% of the time when a gane has on on-rails section, it feels badly implemented, broken or just a huge difficulty spike.
Examples would be the following:
Dead Space: Shooting the meteor shower- totally frustrating experience that stopped a lot of people from finishing the ganme as the way to do it was not properly explained in a tutorial
Gears 2: The infamous turret section in Desperate stand- no matter how many damn reavers you shoot down the last one always gets the satt comm (this was a NIGHTMARE on insane)
GTA: Any time there's one in these games my frustration level peaks. Currently just got past the cop chase mission in Lost and the Damned and it drove me mental.
The only one I can think of that worked well and felt properly balanced was the final level of COD4.
Anyone else got good/bad ones to share? Or feel that they are annoying diversions in games that don't really need them?
