I was disappointed that I couldn't dress my fat Brit up in ass-less chaps with nothing (or almost nothing) on underneath them.

Also I'm pretty sure they just ported over all the same tattoos from SR2, and not even the good ones.

Eh, I think I can live with some loss of customization if it means putting more concentration on what I can do in the game.

There's one thing I don't yet know about the game (I've been mostly avoiding previews); is the player-character in SR3 the same as the character in the previous two? Or is it a new character?

Because if it's the same, I'm gonna be pretty disappointed that we can't import our characters from SR2, at least their faces.
To my knowledge, yeah, you're the same thug you started out as in SR1 and SR2, with Gat and the other characters as your partners. If you remember the Boss state dint he last game that Stilwater was their city now and they can do whatever they want with it, they obviously decide dot become a multi-billionaire corporation.

Still think we should bump off Pierce though..

I'm very content with the character creation. There're less clothing options, true, but the clothes looks far better than anything in SR2. The only thing that I don't like is the lack of normal glasses.
Having the clothes flow and the hairstyles is a bonus for me, lol

So I wonder if there's gonna be yet another plot device to explain why the boss looks different again. The whole reconstructive surgery thing isn't gonna work twice.

Did you SEE Michael Jackson at all? Reconstructive surgery ALWAYS works xD (not always for the better mind you)
I'm thinking they won't explain it this time, your character just supposedly looks the same as they did in the last game, even though we clearly know better.

Fully expecting the nod from SR2 to resurface:

"Hey... you look different. You do something with your hair?" And just leave it at that. :p

As much time as I spent tooling around town buying clothes and all, I was never so happy with the result that, with the more limited but prettier selection we have now, I'd consider cancelling my preorder or anything.

In SR3, the Saints are friggin' celebrities; they're no longer just a street gang after turf... that being said, if you were the boss, would you truly be content striding around in the same threads you were before? (If you answer yes, you're wrong >.>)

I probably spent more time in SR2 "acquiring" cars and taking them to Rim Jobs, so if car customization is better, then the whole clothing bit won't bother me in the slightest.

Look at how much love SR2's character generator gets.
Look at how much love CoX's character generator gets.
Look at how much hate WoW's character...selection gets.

Why would you pare it down when it's one of the games main selling points?

SR2 survived, despite the game halting crashes, the insane controls and the piffling weapons BECAUSE it was doing something new through the generator. You actually felt good getting a pair of pants to fit right. [sub]mebbe[/sub]

It's like taking the rings out of Sonic, or the stars out of Mario. It's just setting up for disappointment.

And I won't even go into the Package Slider. What separates GTA from Magna Cum Laude is not the sexual references, but how well they're hidden. Simply having a "How big is your dick" in character creation slams it into lowbrow.

Now, if there were little blue diamonds you could pick up that would increase that size...same joke, way more funny.
