On what would you spend ?1000

A new xbox or a new computer. My xbox have broken down several times already, and a friend has been handy enough to fix it for me, but it won't survive much longer. But I am inclined to say "F*** YOU XBOX!" and upgrade my computer instead, so it's ready for the Diablo III that I preordered...
If I would have any money left after that, I'd pay bills.

On the other hand, if I got the money today I would spoil my boyfriend and family with awesome Christmas gifts.
Right now I'd have to limit them to about ?5 per person, which sucks ass.

Only $1400? Jeez, that's... it's just enough that I can get some really nice stuff, but it isn't "a lot" a lot, you know? I can't get a god box desktop PC, not even an equivalent laptop. Shoot, that'll barely cover a 30" monitor.

Well, I suppose I could get a supreme home theater setup. Giant TV, big damn 5.1 speaker system - 7.1 if it's on sale - and A/V receiver to tie it all together. Oh, and my current HTPC to play everything.
Or I can get my brother a better laptop than the little refurbished (eww) cheapbook he's getting, with at least $800 left over.
OOH! BUY THE ENTIRE GROCERY STORE. Because I'm a chef, and the opportunity to go absolutely berserk appeals oh so very much.
In that same thread of thought, I'd sample every single root beer I can find to find the best. Then, using that root beer, I would then combine it with every single vanilla ice cream I could find to make the absolute greatest root beer float the world has ever seen.
I would find a jacket that fits me perfectly. Anyone here ever find one, just out of the blue? It's one of the best feelings there is. I guess I could say much the same about my entire wardrobe, but the jacket is my first priority. Also, sweet hats. A nice wool one for the winter, and a much lighter one for spring and summer.
ROAD TRIP. A little one, either to New Orleans, Vegas, or E3.

Any combination of the above.

OP: I would fill my barren fridge with beer, make a stack beside my fridge with enough beer to fill it again, then I would probably spend the rest at the local pub with my brother, a few of his friends, and a couple of mine.
