I'm probably going to spend Halloween watching old episodes of Buffy with my girlfriend, but in spirit of the question:

Demon's Souls or Heavy Rain

Doesn't have to be scary to have the dark and haunting mood that Halloween has been missing.

minecraft. big patch+ I don't celebrate halloween. not a holiday over in here in the backwards part of the world known as "europe". not that I care, though. we have a similar holliday on the 9th of november, but without the scary stuff. just the candy XD
Really? I didn't know that there was a similar holiday in November in Europe. I'm going to smack my British friends for not informing me of this.

If there is one thing Half-Life 2 did brilliantly, it was terrify the shit out of me in Ravenholm. I had trouble sleeping the night after I finished it. I still can't figure out how they made the Headcrab zombies so terrifying in that one level.

If only they could have succeeded so well at what they were trying to do in the previous sections...

Either the Darkness, Prototype, Bioshock, Batman: AA, Dead Space, Alan Wake, Parasite Eve, or Demon's Souls.

The Darkness and Prototype- Play as the invincible monster stalking people
Bioshock- Play borderline invincible man, in addition the whole creepiness of the game
Batman- Dress up as Batman, play a game where you go around frightening the absolute living shit out of people
Dead Space & Alan Wake- Play the only current gen horror game I've got with me (other than RE5, but I've destroyed that game already while DS I haven't beaten from lack of caring and Alan Wake is something I wanted to return to)
Parasite Eve- only PS1 horror game on me
Demon's Souls- Because I've only got the Valley of Defilement (the perfect halloween level) and the final level & bosses left.

Condemned 2: Bloodshot
pfff
Condemned: Criminal Origins is MUCH more scary
so yeah, Condemned CI is my choice
I disagree. The hotel, doll factory, and police headquarters levels are as good as anything in Criminal Origins, and the bear chase is one of the most memorable moments of any horror game I have played. Bloodshot is really underrated IMO.

Condemned series is what I would play, if I did not plan on partying all weekend.

Well I'm going to play Amnesia with friends. Then maybe Clock Tower 3.

By the way I can't stand horror games. :D

I've been contemplating this for a month or so. I just uninstalled Penumbra from my computer, so it's out of the question. I was thinking of playing a Silent Hill or an early era Resident Evil.
Though, I'm terrified of Dead Space so I might choose that. Ju-On the Grudge, it's scary on a first time through, I could play Half Life 2 though.
Maybe just watch several hours of stupid teens getting slughtered in horror movies.

I'm gonna start in Ravenholm then move on to some condemned 2 (the first couple of levels and the one with the bear), have a go at both the FEARs and if it's still Halloween, then a bit of silent hill. I'm playing it all on my PS3 with my epic music headphones pluged in for extra effect.

Yeah, I think it's only in the Netherlands, possibly belgium. It's a christian holiday celebrating St. Marten(or something) he was a roman officer who supposibly gave half his officers' cloak to a homeless man, and half his food to a hungry man(my memory's a bit rusty here) and anyways, children go door-to-door with lantern to sing songs and get candy for it. but they don't need to dress up, and nobody's trying to scare them. they just have to sing stupid songs. hmmmmm. candy.

Might go for one of the condemned games as they are the only horror games I own.

I just bought it for my Mac, and I plan on giving myself a pure Halloween experience. I've never played a horror-type game such as this before, so I'm going in with low expectations, my headphones in, and the lights turned off.

[sub]Yahtzee's review of the game also causes me to believe I will need multiple pairs of pants...[/sub]
