Amala tried to catch Satoru as he fell, however all she succeeded in doing was pushing him into Chao. The two of them crashed to the ground, Chao flat on her back with Satoru sprawled on top of her.
"I'll just go get dressed then," Amala said, feeling a bit embarrassed by this turn of events, "I'll meet you downstairs," she finished as she rushed out the door, heading back to her room to get dressed properly.
"Ow..." Satoru groaned, having whacked his elbow on the side of the bed during the fall. Shaking his head to clear it, he realized he was pinning Chao to the ground.
"...you alright?" she asked, still smiling somehow. Satoru scrambled off her and stood up, rubbing his painful elbow. "Sorry... I'm not exactly covering myself in glory this morning am I?" he said ruefully, helping Chao to her feet. "I'm gonna assume there are more of these guys downstairs, probably grabbing everything that isn't nailed down. You should get your things, I'll meet you and Amala down there," he said, slinging his rucksack over his shoulder. Turning to the open window, he looked back at Chao and grinned. "Watch this,"
Jumping out the window, he fell down to the deserted street below. Bending the earth as he landed, he pushed it downwards, cushioning his fall. Running up to the inn's entrance, he stopped and peaked his head around the door. Four bandana clad men were in there, in some kind of stand off with another man wielding a spear. Bursting into action, Satoru pulled up a couple of earth discs and sent them crashing into two of the men's heads, knocking them down.
"Yea, eat that suckers!"
Before Satoru could launch another volley, one of the remaining bandits pivoted and punched towards him, launching a stream of fire. Scampering out of the way, Satoru took cover behind the inn's wall.
"Crap, a firebender... This could be tough."
