Online Congestion Crippling Single Player Mode in Gran Turismo 5

Weird i got the game yesterday and havent had a single problem, runs like a dream and looks great ..

Seems to vary depending on the time of day/how many people are using the servers. Earlier today at about 8pm(Peak time) I kept on getting 5min long loading screens. For the rest of the day it had been fine though.

Wow, good thing I didn't buy it the day it came out and be completely disappointed. Although it would explain why people are complaining about long loading screen times.

Hopefully it will all be sorted out by then, cuz my G25 is collecting dust over here...

This should never happen. Ever. its pure idiocy on the developers bahalf. Imagine if this happened with Halo Reach or Black Ops????

You are outraged about that? It's not like the game is totally broken, and like it actually erases everything on the disk. It's merely slowed down. They are working on the problem.

I'm pretty sure that if such a thing had happened for Halo or Black Ops, the developers would have acknowledged the problem and would have fixed it as well. Gamers would have complained, but they would have played it anyway afterward.

Hell, people are actually playing Fallout: New Vegas, that's just saying!

Please take note, I'm not attacking you. I'm simply a bit surprised by the magnitude of your reaction.

It is worth pointing out that while the problem is not entirely the same, the Reach beta was released in part to work out problems with their servers and network on a large scale. Also their server on the day it started was quote "on fire." (and not in a good way)

EDIT: It also managed to bend the profile I was using so that only the sticks and shoulder buttons worked. That meant I could steer, accelerate, brake and use my high beams and wipers. No handbrake, no reverse!

HIGHBEAMS!! WINDSHEILD WIPERS! Want. Now. That's the kind of detail i wish forza had. Damn my wheel not working on ps3. And me not having a ps3. Or any friends whos have a ps3 to race against.

You'd be all like "coming through" *flashes high beams*, and you friend would be like "oh no you don't!" *rear fog lights*, and you'd be like "AHH! MY EYES!". and pile ups would ensue.
